Maybe its just me, but I LOVED THAT ARTICLE!

I don't mind the fair-weather insult. Anti-Cowboy folks are just desperate for something negative to throw at us. Embrace the hate! I think its great that people are green with envy of our success. I think its hilarious.

I love it.

I love how Philly fans can't stand our success.

Misery loves company, and man, are they miserable.

There are band-wagoners everywhere. If the Cowboys do what we all BELIEVE they are going to do, get used to seeing people in Cowboys gear you've never seen before. Don't get mad and question if they are real fans, just take a page out of Hos' book and EMBRACE THE LOVE. You can bet they will be exchanging their Cowboys gear for the flavor next of the month next time around, and we'll all still be here arguing over the number of carries for our 3rd string running back and whether our backup TE is worth 1 or 2 first round picks.

I lived through the 70's as a Cowboys fan. I lived and died through the 80's as a Cowboys fan. I loved the 90's Cowboys and cheered as we won SB after SB. I nearly cried throught the Campo 5-11 seasons. I follow this team, through thick and thin and I know THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of other fans who do the same.

Fair weather fans my ***. Kiss our rings Philthy.

On another note, maybe its just because their defeat is fresher but in some ways I think these back-to-back defeats are harder for the Eagles to accept than our debacle a year ago.

I think the Eagles and their fans are just shocked that we wiped the stadium floor with them TWO WEEKS IN A ROW.

First for the Division Title... :laugh2:

and then for the right to move on in the playoffs... :laugh2:

In 2008 we already were showing signs of implosion before we got off the plane in Philly. You could smell the fuel. And then it was ignited. Sure, it was brutally hard to take even when it was foreshadowed. But we also had the sense that much of it was self-inflicted which would allow US to correct it going forward.

I think the Eagles org is still waking up to the fact that Dallas is just clearly a superior team to them. I don't think they considered that possibility when we went into their place and beat em the first time. And even considered the division title game to be somewhat of a fluke that their heart wasn't really in. Then came the final smackdown last week. BOOM!

They're having a really hard time accepting what is unfolding now.

I'll take fairweather over grimy, dirty, smelly, drunk (ok maybe not drunk) and violent any day of the week.

Lots of us had a poor attitude towards our Cowboys when they were dragging their butts and underachieving. They showed us what they are made of now...a "Jail Break" defense...Corners that make plays...Watkins actually getting called for a late hit...WITH his helmet..Williams CATCHING passes...Romo holding on to the ball...and the real strength of the team..Our 3 great running backs!

He's talking about Cowboys fans in philly all of sudden sporting the Cowboys merchandise there. But what he fails to mention is those poor folks are just scared they will get beat up or shot most of the time if they sport Cowboys gear because of the scumbag eagles fans.

Just ask Eagles fans when pitchers and catchers start. That's all.

Exactly. I was laughing my a.. off reading that. I was just smiling ear to ear at the misery of that article. Man it feels good day by day about the thumping of the Eagles. It will extend the misery more if cowboys win against Vikings.

There will be mass suicide in philly if cowboys get to SB and win the darn thing :D

We DO have a lot of fairweather, bandwaggon fans, but I doubt the percentage of which is any different for any other successful team in a given year. Not that this guy is hiding it by any means, but all I got from this article is 'we never had our chance to brag'. Dallas was in the cellar for much of the aughts, while Philly dominated but never cashed in their tickets for the Lombardi. This article just illustrates the fan fear of seeing a shift in power.

Good post.

If you live in the Northeast, (and perhaps elsewhere, I don't know) and you get into a conversation about favorite NFL team, and you say Dallas, you can BET that you will hear the next few things in rapid succession.

1. Bandwagon
2. Fairweather
3. I bet you've never even been to Dallas.

These morons have nothing else to say.

Yes, that's the crushing thing to all the Eagle fans...they know it's over for them. Here is a post from an Eagles message board

This SHELL of a team has been in decline since the Super Bowl
2005 - Second place arrogance strikes Lurie and Banner, and they say goodbye to legit pass rusher Derrick Burgess, show TO who's boss, and are left with a Kearse in tailspin, Greg Lewis, and Reggie Brown. McNabb keeps the team afloat, but his injury that season was the beginning of the end for him.

2006 - McNabb shows flashes of his former self, but is hurt again. Howard is brought in to fix the pass rush, but is terribly underwhelming, as is the rest of a worn down, spread-too-thin D by the end of the year. Garcia shows us what can happen when a good game manager is at the helm, and Westbrook is officially in his prime, and that proves enough to make the playoffs.

2007 - A hyped up bunch of losers takes the field, and never really does anything. The D can't take the ball away, the offense disappears, and a team that shouldn't have made the playoffs didn't.

2008 - The last little burst of a team with fading leadership, and deteriorating talent. It was almost the perfect storm. Almost. Red zone and short yardage woes throughout the year kinda hinted at what would come when it really mattered.

2009 - The effects of the past few years are really being felt. There are no leaders on either side of the ball and it shows. The D bullies terrible teams, and gets bullied by the good ones. The offense still had the short yardage and red zone issues, and big play or bust really screwed them against better teams (and the Raiders).

Now this leaderless, heartless, poorly coached bunch of bums has been demoralizd to the point where it might not recover. Blow it up. Make both lines bigger, get another RB, get just ONE stud LB, and move on.

Their misery, I LOVE IT!!!:lmao2:

this article was posted earlier this morning http://cowboyszone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175719

turns out old Gonzo used to work in dallas.

Maybe some fans should not have thrown in the towel on this team when things were not looking so great. I don't agree with the artical but I do know that some were not giving this team a chance in hell just a few weeks back and did nothing but mock players and coaches.
You got that right. The negativity was so rampant that I avoided this site at times this year.

Good point. I guess all teams have their share of front-running fans. It's just that with the Cowboys, we have so many fans to start with (just look at the ratings) that when the bandwagoners join, it's impossible to ignore them.

I think it should be the opposite. We have so many fans to start with, that the bandwagon jumpers sort of get lost in the crowd.

It gives the non-Cowboys fans something to feel good about when they lose to the Cowboys.

You are really over-rating what a fair-weather fan is, and insulting real fans at the same time.

Fair-weather fans weren't the ones criticizing the team; they don't care enough to criticize the team when it is playing poorly, they just quit paying attention.

If you didn't see what this team was doing earlier in the season as a continuation of what they had been doing since late in the '07 season (defensive collapses at critical moments, offensive inconsistencies) then you weren't paying attention.

There was nothing , beyond blind hope, to indicate that this team would turn it around like it has. I am thrilled that they did, but if you were so certain of this I am pretty sure you could of gotten good enough numbers in Vegas to be retired right now.
