Article: McNabb (and Favre) no longer elite...

I'd like to beat the Eagles before we consign them to the dustbin of history. Many folks on here proclaimed them "dead" last season. Look where they finished. The Cowboys won on Sunday, but I'm not sure the Dolphins are shivering with fear this week. I'll wait and see this season.

And which QB bailed them out?

;)

Mcnabb is still a very dangerous QB in that system. I thought he looked pretty good against a very tough defense on Sunday in his first game back.

I agree. Writing McNabb off at this point is pretty stupid. He can be a serious weopon when he's on top of his game. He's a top 6-7 QB in the league, easily, when he's healthy and at his best.

Fortunately for us, and the rest of the league, a healthy McNabb has been a rarity for the past couple of years. Unfortunately for him and Philly fans, I think that will continue to be the case going forward.

We'll see.

News Flash: Farve has not been elite for five years. He has become a stat inflating play-action passer for quite a while now.

You saw the stats for Eli Manning; he is a 100+ rated passer when play action and about a 67 rating with all other passes. That basically is Brett Farve. Maybe he would still be elite or at least good if Mike Holmgren was still in GB.

I don't care how many games Mcnabb has won; he is still a weekly threat to throw for 300 plus and run for a few Td's. I wouldn't want to face Mcnabb ever.

I would have weighed-in much sooner than Now, but I was curious to see how far this McNice hating frenzy would go. You've said it all. I mean you've bashed him without any room for the benefit of doubt.

Everyone used to say ..."if McNabb is healthy, the Eagles will be in the Post season." No, even though he's healthy, you're saying ..."it's just a matter of time before he get's injured." Damned if you are injured and damned if you're not injured!

I wonder how many of the haters on this thread would jump at an opportunity to acquire McNabb if it were possible? It's easy to say, he's injury prone, but what if this is the year that he remains healthy. Can you honestly look in the mirror and bash him down as an ineffective QB.

I'm sure you won't take my word for it, but at least you could wait until the 2nd or 3rd game before you try to bash him out. But I am saying he's still got the same stuff in him that lead him to the 2004 Superbowl against those cheating Patriots.

I love how you get lectured all preseason about how meaningless it is, then Week 1 comes along and everyone completely overreacts on a sample size of 1 game.

I honestly can foresee Kolb taking his job next training camp.

A couple of more 100+ yard games w/ a loss and it will be sooner than that. :D

Uh...no! Leave him out of the locker room! He won't clean it, he will puke all over it!

Let's give the locker room janitor to Jason Campbell! Let him find out what a REAL locker room looks like...not some damn hog pen where he's at now!

:D

Plus, a QB that will give him the spotlight, because Romo does not need it...he knows what he's all about! This is not some "white on black" crime that Romo's mommy and daddy are crying...
