My point is and always has been that there is more to the story. His situation isn't as black and white as you have read or have been told by a sensational media. That is like listening to the ravings of Galloway and Floyd recently and assuming that the rift between Jones and Parcells is completely true, just because you read it.

I am not on a crusade to get people to love Owens. I don't love him. But I am rational enough to know that there are people smarter than I am running this team and they know more about him and his character and feel it is worth it. I guess now I have to jump on my moral high horse and degrade Jerry Jones and Bill Parcells' sense of morality, because I clearly will lose in the information department, right?

It is amazing what the changing of a uniform can cause so many to stick their heads in the sand.

It's also amazing what wearing it will do also. Would Michael Irvin be pondscum to you had he never worn a Cowboy jersey? Had Owens not "desecrated" the star, would you feel as strongly?

I doubt it.

TO earn his reputation no one else earned it for him. I will agree the media looks at guys like TO, Barry Bonds, Randy Moss and other guys who have a history of bad behavior but they did not create the behavior. Even this organization knows they are taking a risk

And those in the organization say different things about this player's character than you have heard. Does that not registier, or do you already have your mind made up?

I don't know if I would be quick to take him opinion on how long Owens lasts.

A year, they say. How many years did he play in San Francisco? Has he played with a tough, although endearing coach, like Parcells? How alike are Mariucci and Reid in disciplinary action? Do either of them strike you as strong personalities, capable of dealing with other strong personalities? Do you see their weak personalities reflected in their teams, who consistently fold when the pressure is on? Do you see that from guys like Parcells and TO, who are at their best when that pressure is on?

Mariucci and Reid are cut from the same cloth. Both are very soft in terms of discipline and aren't yellers. Mariucci in particular was a pushover and played favorites. Ask the players in Detroit how much discipline and order he brought that team.
