How would any of you guys feel if humans were one link lower on the food chain, and millions of us yearly were subjected to killing another human? Killing is a violent instinct that brings about the destruction of any culture or society, and to project that as a form of entertainment, wether it be at the expense of human or animal life is a sign of absolute decadence. Animals may not have the same brain capacity as humans, but they do experience pain. Look at the eyes of a cow before it is slaughtered. Look at the eyes of a dog about to bite the face of another, or fearing the same result to himself. Then you will know why dog fighting/ cockfighting is illegal.

You're essentially saying that it should be illegal because people don't like it. It offends their sensibilities. That's fine. People can make laws against things that offend there sensibilities. But if that's the only reason they're doing it, I think it's stupid.

Vick wasn't fighting the dogs. The dogs were fighting each other.

I know it's illegal, but it's a stupid law. They're his dogs -- his property. It's stupid to say he can't fight them if he wants.

Here's a thought. Human beings play the game of football, and are paid handsomely to do it. They also CHOSE to play this violent game on their own accord, and they know the risks.

Dogs don't choose to be starved, beaten, tortured, and forced to kill and maim each other.

why else would you make a law? cause it's funny and you're bored? we make laws around "common sensibilties" that we have as a general society. i really don't care how you classify what - if you're "ok" with dogs being bred to fight for *any* reason you've got some issues.
