By the way, dogs are recognized as property in every state that I'm aware of. Yes, they're very cute and cuddly, and sometimes they're your best friend, but they ARE property.

What's your point? Should we amend the constitution and give animals rights? Dogs are property. Human beings can be property, unless the government disallows it.

I'm no lawyer but anti-dog torture laws apparently are constitutional.

I don't see the point in outlawing dog fighting, no. Nor chicken-fighting.

How would any of you guys feel if humans were one link lower on the food chain, and millions of us yearly were subjected to killing another human? Killing is a violent instinct that brings about the destruction of any culture or society, and to project that as a form of entertainment, wether it be at the expense of human or animal life is a sign of absolute decadence. Animals may not have the same brain capacity as humans, but they do experience pain. Look at the eyes of a cow before it is slaughtered. Look at the eyes of a dog about to bite the face of another, or fearing the same result to himself. Then you will know why dog fighting/ cockfighting is illegal.
