As of today who would you pick at #18?

If any player fell in the draft I'd want it to be Haloti Ngata. Barring that I'd like to trade down and add a pick (4th round would be nice) and still get Bobby Carpenter.

A couple of years back I nearly put my foot through the TV when the Pats took Wilfork. I'd love Ngata to fall, but I really don't see it. However it won't stop me getting down on my knees and praying he does. :D

I never believed Stephen Jackson would reach us at 24 and I never believed Jason Witten would drop out of round 1. Every year someone falls that amazes you. I never say never. I also never assume a player will.

Unless a Jay Cutler, Winston Justice or S. Holmes falls to 18,Trade Down a few spots and pick up a 4th rounder would be the best position. Think Denver could be a willing partner for someone on draft day.

At 18 it seems to be the picked over players. The best of what is left. I Don't like that pick. If the Boys were picking 28-30 It means they had a playoff season (solid team)and can be miore selective.

At 18
1. Many Lawson = (if still on the board, The Cowboys LB's would be awesome)
2. maybe Marcus McNeil (a reach at 18)

I like Lawson, Carpenter, Ngata, Huff and Williams.

Any one of those 5 and I'm happy. That's assuming that if we pick one of those guys, the Cowboys have done their due diligence and checked on the background and character of whoever they draft.

JMO, but, I'm pretty sure Vince Young won't be there if we trade down.

I guess im the only one who thinks we need another cornerback. Cromartie is a rare talent in my opinion, 6'3 runs a 4.35 and is great playing man on man.

What do we need another CB for that early?
If we just have to get one, we can wait until day 2 to pick one up.

Well in Cromartie can step in right away and make an impact. He would be a solid nickel corner and a great insurance if henry got hurt again this year. If he didnt come out in his junior year this year than next year he was probably a shoe in for top 5 had he stayed healthy. Cromartie has star written all over him in my opinion.

Yeah if he drops that far. Best cornerback in the draft easily. And we can only hope that Manny or Bobby slide to us in the 2nd if not than we should go after D'Qwell Jackson. Make no mistake about it I think that bobby and lawson are good players but taking them at 18 is a bit of a reach.

1st option: trade down a few spots or completely out of the first round
2nd: S. Holmes or Chad Jackson (likely that neither is there at 18)
3rd: Bobby Carpenter (this with a short trade down is ideal)
4th: Manny Lawson (ditto above)

Ngata seems woefully underrated. Probably because he is an interior guy playing on a mediocre club.

He can help 3-4 teams more than just about any other player in this draft.

I'd say he is probably the safest pick among DL. He isn't gonna get smaller or weaker in all likelihood:)
