Yeah if he drops that far. Best cornerback in the draft easily. And we can only hope that Manny or Bobby slide to us in the 2nd if not than we should go after D'Qwell Jackson. Make no mistake about it I think that bobby and lawson are good players but taking them at 18 is a bit of a reach.
I just did some homework on Antonio Cromartie, and he's listed to go in the second or third round.

I've looked at tons of mocks and I don't see his name in the 1st round. However, I do like what I've read about him, he sounds like a really really good player, and I wouldn't mind having the guy. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Ngata seems woefully underrated. Probably because he is an interior guy playing on a mediocre club.

He can help 3-4 teams more than just about any other player in this draft.

I'd say he is probably the safest pick among DL. He isn't gonna get smaller or weaker in all likelihood:)

Ngata had MAJOR knee surgery (torn ligaments) about two years ago and then he injured a knee against OU in the bowl game also. And we're talking about knees that are carrying 345 lbs. I wouldn't call Ngata a "safe" pick by any means. Is he a good player and perfect 3-4 NT? Sure. Buyer beware though. I'd prefer to have the FA NT from Baltimore, Kemoeatu.

Tough choice because we get to make any assumption we want.

So, that being said I'll go with 2 folks

1. Vince Young because I want to see the Cowboys with a scrambling QB
2. Bobby Carpenter because he looks like the best skill postion player likely to be around when the Cowboys pick

I could live with Huff, FS.
I could live with the OT from USC.
I could live with the WR from Miami or the kid from Ohio State.

Other than those guys or someone very valuable who drops, I'd trade down and secure some extra picks.

:)

The only reason hes scheduled to go in the 2nd or 3rd round by most of these "dopes" who think they know it all is because he was injured for all the whole season last year with a torn acl for FSU. But if he can avoid injurys in the nfl than watch out. 1st round talent written all over him. Anybody else like cromartie as much as me?

I agree that we need an OLB that can generate pressure and sacks. However for those that keep projecting a tweener type that has been a DE in college, I'd suggest that I think we need someone that has been at the position already and not a prospect that has to transition and learn the position.

For my warroom, I'd take Carpenter(If his knee looks healthy at the combine and pro days)

I like Carpenter alot too, but Dallas is interested in DE tweeners, they talked to Mark Anderson, Kamerion Wimbley, and Manny Lawson at the Senior Bowl

I think Parcells will take a LB with our first pick, whether that's at 18 or somewhere else, I feel he'll do his very best to pick a LB and he'll state that he did it because of Dat's retirement, etc.. Frankly though, I think he'll just want a LB and Dat's retirement will be a convenient reason to use.

It wouldn't be just because he "wants" a LB, LB is a NEED

The Best Player is likely to be OLB or a tweener DE.

What if Vince Young or Jay Culter was there? Stranger things have happened.

If one of them are there, then we pass because they blew their knee out at the combine or pro day

Seriously though. Vince Young's decision to not throw at the combine might cost him. He could drop to the 18th pick if Cutler takes his place as the 2nd quarterback taken. If a healthy Young is there at 18th, we must take him even if he doesn't start for a year or two. San Antonio Holmes might drop to us as well.

None of the top 3 QBs will be there no need to worry.

I'd trade the 18th for David Garrard or Matt Schaub and trade Bledsoe to CHI or SF for a 2nd (runs away quickly)..............

In order of preference:

Jay Cutler (Won't be there)

D'Brickashaw Ferguson (Same thing)

Santonio Holmes (Might be there...My first realist pick)

Bobby Carpenter (Like him alot...Would be my close second)

Tamba Hali (This guy could be a great OLB that could bookend with Ware)

That guy thats the WR from Miami got my eye on the ESPN skills thing the other day, I have read that he's not tall enough or whatever but you mark my words this guy will be a stud somewhere he was fast, shifty, all the above, really you guys watch this guy at the combine, you can feel it when you see it, tell you someone else thats for real, Vince Young, he's just an incredible athlete, watch you will see....
