On a side note, Marshall Faulk was uncharacteristically complimentary of the Boys this morning. One idiot at a time, fellas. One idiot at a time.

Man, I've never sen such a whining bunch of ninnies in my life.

First of all let's put the whole conversation into perspective. Strahan AND Bradshaw said that the Eagles went totally vanilla AFTER the Felix TD. They implied that at that point Philly knew they were getting their ***** handed to them and at that point theorized that Philly may have felt that they were better off not showing Dallas any more than they already had and dumbed things down at that point to keep some plays, formations and blitz packages closer to the vest to better serve them next week. At NO point did they infer that Philly went into the game with that mentality. Only when it was clear that Dallas was going to whip their *** did they dumb things down. They also pointed out that once Philly went back to their blitzing ways, Dallas went from scoring 17 points in the 1st half to scoring 7 in the second. That statistic would support their theory of not showing the Cowboys all their defensive packages or looks and, in fact, saving something for next week (AT THAT POINT) would better serve them in attaining their ultimate goal (Super Bowl).

Their argument is ridden with fallacy.

The Cowboys did not score again following Felix's TD; therefore, if we're going to assume the Eagles went "vanilla", we can also reasonably assume the Cowboys did the same.

Also, as long as we're playing what-if games, we should note that Felix scored with time remaining in the third quarter. This means the Cowboys' scoring pace was not substantially different from what it had been prior to the Eagles making halftime adjustments and before both teams went "vanilla." In essence, the Cowboys were averaging 8.5 points per quarter in the first half against a four man rush, and slightly over 7 points per quarter in the second half against heavy blitz.

So they want me to believe that Philthy had the chance to win the NFC East, have a bye week, and play their next game the following week in Philadelphia, but instead they chose to play us again in Dallas one week later?

Why?

Or are the Iggles so afraid that they can't beat us twice that they threw this game so they only had to beat us once?

What?

Talk about sour grapes!!

Trust me, Andy Reid and McNabb wanted to win the NFC East and play their first playoff game in Philthy, ... they just couldn't get it done.

Yeah, it aggrivates me to no end. Even my wife noticed that the media doesn't give Dallas any credit.

Let me get this straight: Green Bay plays an Arizona team that didn't play it's starters much or at all (Kurt Warner), and wins 33-7 and all the Fox guys were saying how the Packers dominated the Cards. And Dallas, dominates a fully locked and loaded Philly team that was playing for a first round bye, and had every reason to win... and the Fox OT crew basically says, "Wait till next weekend because the Eagles are going to not hold anything back then."

Give me a ******* break.

Any neutral observer, having not seen the game or the final score if they didn't pay VERY close attention to that show would have thought that Philly won the game.

Not ONCE during the entire time they discussed it did they mention that Dallas shut them out, or that it was their second consecutive shutout. Nor did they praise much at all how well the Dallas D has played in general this year, or how well the Cowboys O played for the majority of the game, or how dominating the special teams play was.

No, somehow after that entire ridiculous debacle they managed to be more complimentary of Philadelphia than they were of the Cowboys. I've not often given much credence to the idea that there is an East coast bias in the sports media, but it has become very clear this season that most of the commentators in sports media hate the Cowboys and do a poor job hiding that fact.

Some of you completely suck at comprehension (note I said SOME of you). To top it off, a ****ty comprehension ability combined with a wah factor times 10 and you've got a five page thread crying about something that was taken completely out of context and spun to support a crybaby "the world hates us" agenda. Thank God the actual team has more balls than some of the whiner fans around here.
Default
Dallas was pretty vanilla w/ their offensive scheme.

The difference was execution. The RBs were running well b/c the Oline was opening holes; GAPING holes.

Dallas' WRs made catches. Eagles WRs dropped passes.

Neither team blitzed a whole lot. Dallas' pressure came from their Line and OLBs (as usual).

There were no special trick plays by the Cowboys, no reverses, no Razorback formations, etc...

Dallas *KNOWS* what they'll see next week...blitzes, etc. the Dallas defense knows they'll have to protect against more screens, etc.

No kidding. This is absolutely ridiculous. Yeah, Philadelphia "held things back" -- after they were down 24 points.

To put this argument on its head, though, are we naive enough to believe Dallas showed everything while Philly showed nothing? Please. Both teams left cards up their sleeves. But to say Philly folded on purpose ... :lmao:

maybe its buried in the 112 posts to this thread..

but its pretty hard for the Iggles to say they didnt try when they played their starters thruout the game........

If you gonna attempt to claim that......pull McNibber at half, Pull Asante in the 3rd qtr.......

at least they have some cred.....

i said it a millions times in the thread when people kept saying this

what reason did philly have to lose?

its not as if it was a given win or lose they would play us.

they a had a chance at the number 2 overall seed and a bye week.

they had every reason to win that game but got beat down. simple as that

honestly i think they are just trying to get in the Cowboys heads. If the eagles laid down with a bye week and a home game on the line, they are the biggest fools in the NFL. and Reid is too smart for that. The Cowboys out worked them in every facet of the game. This is a different Cowboys team. This team is going to put away the Eagles on Saturday.

I might not have been as harsh but ...

I don't think anyone is underestimating the Cowboys win. Both teams didn't show everything after a certain point.

But no fan base plays the Rodney Dangerfield role like Cowboys fans.

Whatever works.

This makes no sense...if they win they are #2 seed and don't play us again (probably). Why was McNabb is there until the very end?
