Jeanty will be 215+, he’s fine

Just posted this in another threat - but this has to be a concern
Jeanty and carries have to be a concern....his totals are still pretty far off from some other notable backs, but most aren't recent backs. Including his receptions - he had 830 (750 carries and 80 receptions) total attempts

Cedric Benson - 1112 carries
Tony Dorsett - 1074
Ricky Williams - 1011
Herschel Walker - 994
DeAngelo Williams - 969
Ray Rice - 910
LaDainian Tomlinson - 907
Marcus Allen - 893
AJ Dillion - 845
Marshall Faulk - 766
Earl Campbell - 765
Demarco Murray - 759
Nick Chubb - 758
Adrian Peterson - 748

The biggest alarm with these is there aren't many modern day backs that end up successful in the NFL coming into the league with that many carries.

There have been 178 backs coming out of college that had more carries.

At #12, the Cowboys had better get it right

Jeanty has the production, no question
Jeanty has speed
But size is lacking ... I would be very concerned

Moreover, this is a deep RB class

@ #12, this is a hard pass
Being short is fine at the RB position.

It can be a huge advantage too.

If you think height matters at the RB position I’d say watch more football.

You left out Jonathan Taylor from that list. He had 926 college carries plus 42 receptions.

Taylor also had over 1,400 yards on 300+ carries for the Colts last year (his fifth NFL season).

Jeanty will be fine.

He has a chance of being very good. Character and work ethic are off the charts. He would be an excellent pick at 12 or with a slight trade back.

Thanks
Might have missed a couple more...was skimming through them.

Sadly, I think we are dead or near dead at a # of spots. We don't have a real FS on the roster, no one knows if Diggs will ever be 100%, we have perhaps 1 LB, no DTs, mediocrity at 2 or 3 OL positions, jags at TE & WR, and no RB on the roster to speak of.

I'd rather trade down, but there has to be a trade partner in able to make that worthwhile.
We should have 10 picks this year. We're projected to have 4 comp picks

lets be blunt: the chances of the sixth and seventh rd picks being anything is minute.
Flournoy
Thomas
Deuce
J. Brooks
Mukuamu
D. Wilson
Ced Wilson
X Woods
N. Brown
A. Brown

Cowboys have a history of drafting guys late that stick.

If you take an RB in the top 15 he better have Peterson running ability or a Faulk-like dual back.
