he'd be the best rb we have had in Dallas since DeMarco Murray. I have DM rated higher than Zeke. His running style was hard to stop. The oline coupled with HIM was unstoppable in 2014. That team may have been better than the 2007 team. If we draft Jeanty, we will see flashes of what we did in 2014 again. 2016 was special too with Zeke and that oline, but for me, the 2014 team was better.

Honestly, I would argue he's the best back since Emmitt. The way he runs looks better than Murray, and he doesn't seem to have a fumble problem in college. Get him as a rookie, and Dak goes back to being able to play action. We should be able to destroy defences with that and play keep away. Then, get a NT in round 2, and now we are cooking!!

So, I've been doing some research on Jeanty, who I want us to take. I've compared Ashton Jeanty to Emmitt Smith in terms of styles and measurables. The crazy thing is? It's crazy similar. Firstly, they're the exact same height and only separated by a pound. Here's Emmitt Smith (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmitt_Smith) who I looked up to as a kid. Here's Jeanty (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashton_Jeanty).

Then, you look at their highlights.

Emmitt Smith:

Ashton Jeanty:

It's remarkable! Not saying they're the exact same, but the similarities that I can see are remarkable. If he's available when we are picking, it's almost a no brainer to me.

Jeanty is stronger and faster.

He’s probably the best running back prospect I’ve seen come out of college in the last 10+ years.

His statistical output is on track to be completely record breaking. He’s got all of the tools you want in an NFL running back, and game breaking athleticism.

I guarantee someone is going to take a chance on him in the top 10 in spite of the position he plays.
The best I've seen since Barry Sanders.

If he does go before Dallas picks, then the Cowboys take a dtackle and take a back in the 2nd round.

I’m not usually for 1st round running backs because of their shelf life.

But a question you need to ask about 1st round picks is what kind of impact they’ll have on the team in the immediate future.

If you’re one of the people who thinks Jeanty is going to have a 1+TD, 100+ yard game every week, then hell, that type of impact is worth a first round pick. That type of impact is rare and hard to find.

That’s the sort of impact player that this team desperately needs on offense.
No it isn't, because you can generate that collectively.

There is not a running back in the entire NFL who is not a product of the environment around them. The surrounding pieces - OL, passing game - make more of a difference on the run game than the back itself. Henry and Saquon are perfect examples of this.

I hate to say it, but I would actually be all in on Dallas selecting him in the 1st if he is there when they are picking (probably somewhere in the 10-20 range I am assuming).

Running backs still matter, and this one could be game breaking and instantly make our weakest position group one of the best in the league. Our run blocking is still pretty dang bad though. That will have to be addressed somehow.

I'm all in on taking Jeanty. 1st pick pretty much would be him or 1 of the dtackles. If Jeanty is there, I would take him.

He won’t be around when Dallas ends up picking round one somewhere in the mid / late teens . RB WR are all popular picks with Jerry and Fans but let’s be honest this defense needs HELP . It’s getting gashed weekly pretty much putting games out of reach .

Dallas defense was able to Bottle up the Browns Giants & Steelers . Saints Ravens Lions was a beating . Say Samuels Aiyuk McCaffrey were all heathy would anyone be looking forward to that .

Daniels in Wash going to be around years in this division and the Eagles offense looks different with healthy Brown & Smith and now Barkley . And Dallas hasn’t gone up against either yet .

I will be honest, this kid has some impressive tapes. What stands out to me is his yards after contact and vision. He reminds me of Barkley but better vision. Would I use our first to draft him.......I don't know or can't answer right now.

If the Cowboys didn’t have to trade up to get him and lose draft capital and he’s sitting right there then you can’t argue Daks a better QB with home run threat running the ball , and catching .

Its so weird that he has 39 receiving yards this year. I dont read anything to it because he was a beast asa receiver last year. But just weird
Why throw it to him when you can just hand it to him and he’s making explosive runs every other carry.

I do want to see him used more in the passing game though.

I don’t really think you can throw a couple decent running backs behind an OL, even a great OL, and expect them to collectively match Jeanty’s impact.

Production? Perhaps. But impact? No.

Jeanty is a threat to score any time he touches the ball, and defenses know that.

I believe he is one of those guys who can go to a trash team and generate a few wins by himself. Or take a good team and put them over the top.

That type of impact is worth a 1st to me.

That’s just my thoughts obviously. I’m once again not a fan of RBs in the first, but I’m willing to take any “game changer” in the first - and I think he’s that.

Back in 82', people compared me to Roger Staubach..... if coach had just put me in , we would have taken state.

Dude is running against cream puff defenses. I'll believe it when I see it.
