Ashton Jeanty, TMAC and Jihad Campbell on the board at 12

BPA that's not a RB.

You posters don't want to pay RB's, so why waste a valuable pick on one if the position is so devalued? Because you think he's a generational talent that can't bust? If he doesn't bust, are you gonna wanna pay him?

Trade down if the offer is good. Or go for an expensive position you are willing to pay second contract on.
I agree with this logic but I will say if a rookie deal is 5 yesss and another year possibly on the tag….that’s 6 good years to have control of a guy. I don’t pass up Jeanty but I hope someone takes him before we pick.

Emmitt Smith is the most overrated player in history, though, in my book.

He's the so-called all-time leading rusher because Jerry sacrificed making the team better and upgrading the position to sell tickets. The Cowboys could have been so much better in 2002. But they just kept handing Emmitt the ball in order to get the record. Those were my worst years being a Cowboy fan. It had become less about winning a SB and all about Emmitts ego and the rushing record.

He was a decent player. Don't get me wrong. But he was a lot like TO. Emmitt liked him some Emmitt. He had the best oline money could buy during an era when there was no cap. The NFL has never seen such a dominant line since and had never before that line....and that was a huge part of it.
I don’t know about that. I think Jerry just sucked at roster building. I don’t think it was because of Emmitt. Interesting take I never thought of though.

I don't remember that. If Jeanty was there I think Jerry would skip up to the podium himself all the way from Frisco to hand in the card

You might be referring to Broaddus saying that "his sources" told him Dallas wouldn't take Hampton? And that's from Broaddus who is pretty much never right and I think he just makes half of his crap up at this point anyway.
I thought I read somewhere that Jerry admitted taking Zeke so early in the draft was a mistake and he wouldn't do it again. Maybe it was inferred that he wouldn't take Jeanty at 12.

I think it is a moot point. He is not going to get past the Raiders.

If they were able to move up, then the ez choice would be Will Campbell.. Would you rather have a Zeke or a Zack?

Right because you take him and don't look back
If you think we're close to winning and/or Jerry spends in Free Agency.... to make up for what we could get with the trade down draft capital.
We are a draft and development (only) team, that's biggest roster weakness is the discrepancy between the elite/good and the drop off to the bottom end of the roster.
Stars aren't necessarily losing the play-off games, it's that we have too many glaring weaknesses.

Interesting. I didn't remember that and would be very surprised to hear Jerry say that about Zeke but you may be right.

While I do think the Raiders will take him, I don't think it's certain. I would however be absolutely shocked if he got past both the Raiders and then Chicago at #10 as well with Johnson now their HC. They built up their OL in free agency. They have their QB. They have two WRs. They do have Swift but clearly the Detroit game plan was to add a young stud RB to a veteran and use both so I think he adds a RB. It's RB or TE to me and Kmet wasn't too bad. I think they target Jeanty, Hampton or Warren

Depending on the talent in a particular draft and team needs...im being frugal when it comes to QBs and RBs.

I don't care if jeanty is the super soaker and the others are squirt guns...

Give me an Olineman, Defensive End, Corner....im not spending picks on crapshoot QBs or dime a dozen RBs.
I respect your opinion bud.

By most mock draft Ashton Jeanty will be gone by pick 12, but who would you take if the best RB, WR and LB is on the board at pick 12. Im torn, love Jeanty, TMAC and CD could be lights out and Campbell and Parson could be a nightmare for offenses. Who would you take. FYI: I dont like Golden, he is to small and not sure if he is a true stand alone #1 WR. TMAC reminds me of DJ Moore or Mike Evans and that would make a crazy match up with CD and TMAC.
And you're overthinking stuff you're calling him too small goldens too small to carry a team really how about Tyree kill he might be 5'10 but most think he's 5'9 191ish that's the type of wide receiver golden can be his projections he's every bit twenty pounds heavier than Xavier worthy from the Vatican of the.. In fact like you've never watched the NFL you're telling me that there's never been small wide receivers or small ish wide receivers that can be a number one?.

Golden
Height: 6'0" (1.83 m).
Weight: 195 lbs (88 kg).

HMMMMMM Now we have a heightest in here that thinks now no wide receiver with four 3 speed and at that size can be a number one even though we see Tyreek Hill dominate the NFL...

Steve Smith Sr. › Height 5′ 9″, Weight 185 lbs hmmm must be sure #2 lmao

Hampton will be the better pro. Jeanty won’t live up to the hype. This ain’t Utah State.
This is a minority opinion, but I think it is very possible. It reminds me of Zeke vs. Henry. Hampton has the size and power to do well at the pro level. I could easily see looking back 8 years from now that Hampton was the better pick. I'm sure Jeanty will tear it up in the near term. No doubt he has skills. A lot of wear and tear already though.
