At least the Cowboys now have a former HC now with Pettine

Which we may need if this season collapses.

Most of us were concerned Jethro could wait until season was over if this season totally collapses with no one on staff who’d ever had any NFL HC experience .

Now we have that. It isn’t much but at least he was HC of the Browns a couple seasons. And being a veteran DC we could fire Parker as well.

I can’t recall Cowboys ever bringing on a new coach during season before. This must be very telling how much confidence they’ve lost in Parker only 5 games in as defense has gotten worse.

At least they must know these next couple games are very critical and falling to 2-5 on the road in these next two Prime Time games on Sunday and Monday night could propel Cowboys into a Free-Fall in 2026.
10-22 record, perfect Jerry hire. How hard do you try to come up with this stuff.

It really seems as though someone with prior experience like Pettine could help this organization get something going right. Anytime a good man is added to the current staff, good things are possible. There's not much to lose at this juncture. Maybe it's the break that's needed. Be glad, not sad.

It's my understanding the Cowboys wanted to bring Pettine in along with Parker from the very start, and Pettine declined. Something changed his mind. Could it be an under the table promise from Jerry that it's Pettine's show if Schotty gets axed?

And yes, this is 100 percent pure speculation.

It’s a tough situation to walk into for MP.

None of the D coaches are gonna like it.

Their jobs are on the line.

CP will be butt hurt bravo.

Shotty knows MP could take his job too.

I hope that Pettine is coming in to advise on how to shore up the scheme. Parker hopefully goes back to what he's good at, which ironically is passing game coordinating, right?

Werder said on the Ticket this morning that a coach or someone in the league who worked extensively with Pettine as a HC told him that we finally hired a real coach and that Dallas would now walk away with the division.

Ed said the general feeling was, more influence Pettine has, the better.

I doubt he makes *that* much difference, but that's what Ed said.

Only works if MP has authority.

Otherwise, the coaches with ostracize him.

If they don’t have to listen to/respect him, they won’t.
