The NFL-operated Around the League Podcast discussed the notion of trading Tony Romo, in response to Jerry Jones' comments that you don't rebuild with him on the roster. They mentioned the Rams and Cardinals as the two most likely bidders if Romo was to be put on the market, proclaiming the Cardinals a favorite in the NFC with Romo under center. What would it take for you to pull the trigger and trade Romo?

Presently, about $28 million in cap space. We might as well consider what it would take to bring Staubach out of retirement.

I would love for us to trade Romo so we can have a year of Weeden/Orton. I love how we think getting a QB is easy. Have the Commanders taught us nothing? And lets be honest in today NFL who trades for a starting QB? I mean I can't think of the last time a STARTING QB was traded. Not a QB that made it to a starter or a QB that was a starter that had injury. But a healthy starting QB being traded, no releases or anything.

Upon further review Jay Culter is the most recent. Denver got 2 first rounders, a 2nd and a player. Cutler also asked for the trade which could have brought down his value a fraction.

I'd jump on a similar deal for Romo

Cowboys
QB Tony Romo

for

Cardinals
OG Jonathan Cooper
DE Calais Campbell
2014 2nd round pick

or

Rams
OG Rodger Saffold (depending on whether he passes the physical)
DE Robert Quinn
2014 1st round pick
2015 2nd round pick

When i saw the 2 firsts a 2nd and a player. It does seem good. but Denver had 2 years with Orton (missed playoffs). An Orton/Tebow year (made playoffs). The only reason that this wasn't as horrible as it seems is because Manning broke his neck and Denver got LUCKY. Could we afford 3 seasons of what if's and Orton/Weeden?

With all those picks you could go get any qb in this draft, a player, and still have a few extra picks to build other positions/units

That's it? Why not get long, austin, and Stacy from the rams too?

And And fitz, Washington, peterson, and the honey badger from the cards

The AZ deal seems stupid for us, we would still have no QB. The Rams deal is just nuts

My reply was fantasy based so that it would coincide with the fantasy discussion opinion created by the Around the League podcast posted in the OP. Do I really need to make my crazy post read even more insane?

Unless Romo's back is kaput, he's going nowhere.

Good gravy people.

You are 100% correct.

Did anyone read the OP? It said, "The NFL-operated Around the League Podcast discussed the notion of trading Tony Romo..."

Come on people. The OP's a joke. The reply was a joke. Can I get a ha ha?

I'll preface by saying no chance this happens.

However Cooper and two firsts seems about right to me. Maybe with the second first rounder being a conditional pick given Romo's injury issues.

You have the makings of a dominant oline, you can now stock up on dlineman in the draft and maybe take a guy like Fales, McCarron, Murray or Smith in the middle part of the draft. This year would be a write off, but that might not be a bad thing with the QB class of 2015 promising to be a very good one.

Not unless your trading Bryant, and Murray as well. No sense in keepin them around if your gonna rebuild the O with a new QB.

Drew Brees turned out to be a steal.. While back though.

Romo may bounce back and pick up his Denver-esque game skills... That's what we're all hoping and praying for here at least...
