Honestly I feel Jerry really does want Manziel. I'm afraid he's going to fall to #16 and we will have more drama than ever before. Bright side is Drake would be playing the Thanksgiving half-time show.

I don't think there is any way he falls that far.

Straight up 2nd pick for Romo, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Jerry would too. He would get his prize Manziel be damned how many dates Romo and Garrett go on. Jerry wants Manziel.

Really? You just had to say something like that?

Maybe you need a date?

He's not falling. Not after that pro-day. Plus there are a few downtrodden teams (jags/browns) that need him to re-energize the fanbase.

I have never played but I know the skill involved & I know he is/was a very good golfer. I hope he can & this is merely my opinion & nothing else but Romo seems like one of those guys that doesn't care much about what the fans think.

I think his back issues are going to hurt his golf game, that is what I am saying.

And he will. I thought some months back he would fall but not anymore.

The NFL-operated Around the League Podcast discussed the notion of trading Tony Romo, in response to Jerry Jones' comments that you don't rebuild with him on the roster. They mentioned the Rams and Cardinals as the two most likely bidders if Romo was to be put on the market, proclaiming the Cardinals a favorite in the NFC with Romo under center. What would it take for you to pull the trigger and trade Romo?

It would take something like the Herschel Walker trade for me to be happy (btw won't happen). I agree with most here, it's hard to get a starting QB but if you have a good defense and a QB that's serviceable you can go a long way (Seattle, San Francisco, Tampa Bay (SB winning team), Ravens (with Dilfer), etc

Two-1st Rounders, a vet guard like LA, and one mammoth disruptive NG..
After all Romo is like 5th most prolific passer of all time.. Right Homers?

So what would a realist like you expect?

A fifth rounder and a taco?

If Romo gets his back cleared/healed up this is a non issue but unfortunately we are likely just going to have to wait until TC/preseason for visual confirmation. After last season, what can really be taken as fact outta Valley Ranch regarding Romo's back? The O was OK last year (still painfully simple) without taking any deep shots and w/o compensating for a D that was historically bad (running the ball; esp when proving succesful). Dez and Murray, coupled with the improved OL, make this team competitive with even avg QB play. I'd be highly surprised if Manziel doesn't go top 5. Trading up is a lot cheaper than it used to be with the rookie contracts being capped.

Romo being traded is off the table forever. Jerry made it so. The contract is so large the salary cap acceleration would bury Dallas for min. of 2 years. Plus there isn't another team in NFL that would take his contract in my opinion. A much more likely scenario is for Romo to play the next two years (healthy or not) and then get released and be free to play for another team.

If we have the Cardinals Romo as QB, not only have we given them Romo but also a SB victory.

I also heard rumors of Dexter Coakley being involved in the trade. Please confirm.

First of all, I understand that it was just hypothetical and Romo isn't going anywhere.

Second, the idea that we could get two 1sts, let alone one and Robert Quinn is just laughable. Same with Cooper.

The gap between Palmer and Romo isn't as big as some might think. The Cards went 10-6 with Palmer...don't see Romo doing much better than that.

I would love for us to trade Romo so we can have a year of Weeden/Orton. I love how we think getting a QB is easy. Have the Commanders taught us nothing? And lets be honest in today NFL who trades for a starting QB? I mean I can't think of the last time a STARTING QB was traded. Not a QB that made it to a starter or a QB that was a starter that had injury. But a healthy starting QB being traded, no releases or anything.

Upon further review Jay Culter is the most recent. Denver got 2 first rounders, a 2nd and a player. Cutler also asked for the trade which could have brought down his value a fraction.

How old was Cutler when this happened?
