If the Braves do indeed lose the wildcard, you can look at 2 games.
Game 1 @ St. Louis
Win that game (up 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs and a man on first base), and the Cardinals are likely done.
Game 1 @ Florida
After scoring 4 runs in the top of the 7th to take the lead, Chipper loses a routine out (the game ending out) in the lights, and Kimbrel doesn't pick Chipper up and gives up the game winning home run. The former Brave who homered only had 5 HRs at the time.
Craig Kimbrel has been a flat out stud this year (as a rookie). I thought he would get to 50 saves, and he still might. However, the Braves simply were not good enough to over come those 2 blown saves. Venters and Kimbrel pretty much have to be perfect (and they pretty much have been, imo) in order for the Braves to win.
If it wasn't for the Braves pitching staff (especially Venters and Kimbrel), the Braves wouldn't be in the hunt.
Randall Delgato is a flat out stud. I think he is winning a spot in the rotation next year.
It sure would be nice if the Mets won the game tomorrow. A 2 game lead sure is better than 1.
The Braves must beat the Nationals in game 1, or they are in huge trouble, imo. They have to win at least 2 of those games and hope the Cubs beat St. Louis.
