Attendance at camp from fans has been low

It’s hard, real hard to root for the Cowboys. Disappointments aside Jerry Jones is such a louse it is hard to see him happy. Plus his recent gaslighting of the fans is a whole new level of dirtbag. It’s hard. I still root for them because I know there are good fans out there that deserve a win.
Growing up I always remember I pretty much had to defend myself as a Cowboy fan. Being a Cowboys fan was easy. They were awesome. Then came the 90s. People would roll their eyes sure you are a life long Cowboys fan. It was an embarrassment of riches. There was a measure of guilt associated with it. Now the reaction is totally different. People are impressed when I admit that I am a Cowboys fan. There is a level of shamefulness to it now that makes it somewhat respectable. Like being a fan of the Browns. No one questions it at all. Why would I say such a thing if it was not true.

I think this is why there is a divide in the fandom about what is acceptable, good and tolerable as regards QB, wins, playoffs, etc. If you know, you know.

I would give anything to go back to the days when I felt guilty telling people I was a Cowboy fan. You literally had to defend yourself. I live in Patriots county. There was no such thing as a Patriots fan back then. 5 super bowls later and you would swear that they were the only team in the world. Fans had to swear up and down that they were always Patriots fans. I remember what that feeling was like. Now people want to try to console me when I wear a Cowboys hat.

Was a cubs fan from the early 70's until the late 80's. Too much masochism for me to continue. I was still happy when they finally won a World Series but it took SO LONG!
Like FIVE generations. The Red Sox were almost as bad with the Curse of the Bambino.

It will always be full. 20% of the crowd is corporate, and I've seen the stadium be taken over by opposing fans. The 49ers game in 2014 was at LEAST 74% Forty-niners fans. Jerry doesn't care.
Well if no one went to the games, Jerry still get paid, all tickets are pre-sold forever !!
But if the stadium were half empty, that would embarrass jerry, and he makes less on concessions.
I dont see that happening though, as there will always be enough dummy's who will go and fill it up.

If one of us was a multi millionaire, we could buy up the cheaper tickets, then just dont sell them to anyone, so all those seats are empty!

The whole thing is set up so the owners are bulletproof, they cant lose, owning a team is like owning a cash machine.
They cant not make millions each year , it is a great business to be in.

As I've stated 100+ times before, there was a day when I'd already have their first six (6) games memorized....home and away. I have no clue who they play in the opener, and don't give two craps about it....wake me up when Booger and Chuckles are both six feet under. Yeah, I said it.

fan apathy is real.
Can you blame them? We have seen what has happened. The league keeps us just relevant enough for ratings....Yet were not bad enough for a to pick to rebuild. Jerry just keeps pocketing the money.....so why change? He can preach to us how bad he wants to win.....but @ the end of the day....All you gotta do is look back at his history. It's a revolving cycle of losing....with no long term plan. He's never taken finding a franchise QB seriously. In the 25 years since Aikman has retired......he's never spent a top pick on a QB. You get what you pay for. He can preach all he wants about how QBs don't grow on trees....But @ some point you gotta go get one....Or you will be the Detroit Lions or Browns who have been looking for 50 years.

Cowboy fans are all set with the hype machine and no longer want to spend their hard earned money on mediocrity.

OK, with that being said what do you attribute a crowd at training camp that is about 70% less than it has been the last several years to?. And that’s not making it up. I have people that are there.
The playoff loss.

It was brutal.

Fans have turned their back.

No one wants #4

Well they are dumb because #4 is by far the best we've got. One of the best in the league. Good riddance to California fans. Jerry needs to bring training camp back to San Antonio or somewhere here in Texas. He will have no problem being sold out during training camp.

its generational. Im 54 and have 4 daughters... all Cowboys fans. The Cowboys support isnt waning, only in your hopeful thoughts.

Look at the top rated games last season.
Look at home attendance last season.
Look at price for tickets to away Cowboys games. Look at the prices of the game before and after Dallas comes to town and then get back to me and tell me their support is falling off.
Yes. Many can lie to themselves about many things they are emotional about and this is one.

It’s far fetched to think the business model of the Cowboys will fail. They hope Jerry will be forced to change. He wont and the Cowboys will stay the most popular team even if they lose for several years.

I live in Louisville Kentucky and see Cowboys gear ALL THE TIME. And way more than the next popular 5 teams combined. At work. At the store . At everywhere. Young and old. Black and white. They’re not going anywhere.

I’ve been to San Antonio camps.

The heat is brutal and the dome experience is not the same as outside Southern Cal.

Both have great food though.

All means nothing when California "fans" refuse to show up to training camp. If Jerry is not making them sales, he will be forced to move camp back to Texas or elsewhere. That's obviously what message them California "fans" are sending Jerry. I say bring camp back to Texas.

I don't know if Jerry cares, but for the players sake, keep it where it is. You can't ask for better weather.

Apathy . That Greenbay game last year was the emperor has no clothes moment. It was a reality check. Jerry Jones, McCarthy and Dak have to go .
