First four games of last season... Garrett starts off quicck.. the problem is, when he plays a team the second time, he blows, especially the Eagles. Jimmy Johnson would pretty much knew what was coming... Even in Garrett's grand year of arrival, he put up 38 the first time against the Eagles, but the second time only 6. The Eagles knew Barber was their check-down and pretty much took him away. Romo couldn't find anybody after the deep route was taken, and the outlet to Barber was gone.
Nolan said the same thing this year against Denver, because when Romo's first option is taken, he usually goes to his running back as a check-down. And we all know who calls the progressions...
I don't know how many times defenses called him out. By the end of the year, the offense pretty much relied on Romo keeping plays alive on his feet and the offense moving at a frantic pace. Even if we look this year, his Y/A goes up in the 4th quarter and he hasn't thrown an INT.
