Miles Austin was a two-year letterman at Garfield, N.J., High School, where he played wide receiver and defensive back.

As a senior, recorded 75 tackles and 10 interceptions.

Also played basketball, finishing with 1,028 career points, and was a member of the track and field team, for which he recorded the second-longest javelin throw in Bergen County history (214'8).

do you have any stats regarding his smiling?

I think he ranked #1 overall. :laugh2:

I'm happy for Miles, it is great seeing a guy who has been working hard finally get his chance to shine and then see it payoff for him. Listening to him he seems to be very level headed about this new found fame

Whatever they are, he probably holds Cowboys records with that as well.

It seems to me like TO would have taken a guy that isn't full of natural talent under his wing (Hurd) and not a guy who is nearly as physically talented as himself (Austin).

Maybe I'm wrong, but with TO's fragile ego, I don't think he'd want to try to improve a guy who is as big and fast as he is.

You are a welcomed addition to this forum. Are you the lady that was in here several times last season? Anyways, welcome aboard.

I appreciate it but I am not the same person. I just started jumping on fan forums this season. Plus I am guy. Hard to tell with a unisex name like hawksfan81 I know. But its the same name I use on the other forums I go to so its grown on me. Thanks again for the welcome.

Funny I think I remember reading that Miles had gotten a few tips from Terry Glenn that he really paid attention to...maybe he just reminds me of Glenn. Miles looks the ball in to his hands and is immediate with his next move, he is pretty quick with great inline speed, kinda like Glenn.

I doubt T.O. was worried about Miles Austin taking his position while T.O. was on this team. If T.O. were still on this team, Miles Austin likely wouldn't be starting.

I'm sure he learned a lot from Owens. He was also smart enough to stay out of the parade into Garrett's office to complain last year. I really like this young man.

And I too agree with Michael that he probably learned what not to do from Owens as well.

Terrell Owens actually had nothing but good things to say about Miles Austin when he commented on him. I guess Terrell Owens seen it coming too based off of what he was teaching him.
