Audio: Steve Smith calls out Jenkins on Irvin

Jenkins played a good game. Steve shouldnt be talking bad about him.

He needs to learn to tackle. He cost us a lot of yards the last few games - including Monday night - because he does a horrible job tackling.

You mean Scandrick?

Jenkins has come to tackle aggressively all season long (including the preseason). The tackle he's missed in the last couple of games is the one against Moose that gave them a first down.

Mike Jenkins is going to be a flat out stud.

Don't back down!!!

CB isn't a position to be intimidated.

You don't back down if challenged, especially if you are young.

I continue to think that Mike Jenkins needs a lot of work.

I do too. He and my boy OScan both still need a lot of work. Bottom line... They're going to be good bookends for years to come with a star on their helmets.

when boys talk, grown men are quiet, so you dont need to be running your mouth

Well.........at least SS can admit that HE is a boy since he seemed to be running his mouth all night, lmao

I wonder did Deion ever back down from talking trash as a rookie?
No. Players play and dont back down on the field.

Your reasoning is ridiculous.

I could not agree more. I get the feeling that some just don't like him, hence the goofy rationalizations.

It actually is all about cowering. Mike gave him the extra shove so after that what?

When Smith talked, what should he have done?

I swear you guys just whine about everything and think the Cowboys are at fault all the time. The same people who'd claim we don't have enough dogs on the team

I couldn't have put it any better.

It's a rare individual that talks smack even after he gets his butt handed to him.

Edit: He says that Jenkins was playing in the slot last week, so obviously he doesn't know much about him.

I'll be scared ****less trying to cover any WR and ball player but if you put me on the field against Rice or Jordan, I wouldn't back down and if they talked I'll talk back.

What ish could you possibly talk back about to Rice or Jordan? Considering how bad they would school you, you would sound/look absolutely rediculous talking trash back.

Same thing for any player. You look stupid if you talk trash and can't back it up. Now I am not saying this is the case with Jenkins cause I don't know what was said, and as was mentioned above, Smith didn't exactly have a good game. But if your going to talk smack you better be able to back it up with your play on the field.

I don't have a dislike for him. I just have a general dislike for players who act like they are better then they really are. That's why I don't like Antonio Pierce and why I really don't like Brandon Jacobs. If Mike is out there giving extra little nudges to players like Steve Smith after the play is over, he is a guy acting a lot bigger than his performance.

It appears in order for you to save face here, you are completely ignoring the fact that Steve Smith initiated the incident w/ Jenkins and that Jenkins was responding to Smith.

Like folks have said, do you expect him to just cower and run off? Im glad he stuck up for himself.

Steve Smith is just a thug w/ a little man complex.

Heck of a football player though.

Ironic that he calls out Jenkins for his coaches not having faith in him so Scandrick gets the start against the Giants, yet Smith was curiously absent on the final Carolina drive.

That is your opinion and you are welcome to it. You think Newman has been consistent this year?

Not putting words in your mouth, just assuming that is who you are talking about.

Newman has looked terrible this year until the Panther game.

It is also your opinion that Newman "has looked terrible this year". Go back and watch the Tampa Bay game. He had a very good game, but he had the one bad play where he kind of slowed down and gave that guy a chance to dive out there and get it.

The coaches should have protected their CBs at the end of the half with the safeties, because it was Tampa Bay's only hope to score. They had to go deep. There was no reason to not play safe there. That is on the coaches, imo.

Plus, they didn't score.l

Steve Smith didn't initiate the incident.

"Jenkins comes and tackles me, gives me a little extra shove, I kind of say something to him"

Well, I guess Jenkins did if you completely ignore the first part.

Smith was curiously absent the entire game.

Moreover, the final score was 21-7, and Smith didn't score the 7.

Jenkins, Scandrick, & Newman 1, Smith 0.

he's just mad cause Jenkins was talking trash. I like corners who talk trash. My 2 favorite corners Deion Sanders and Kevin Smith couldn't stop talking trash.

Fred Smoot one of your favorites too? :lmao: how about DeAngelo Hall??

So says Steve Smith. And really, who cares? I swear to god, some of you guys gripe just to gripe. Steve Smith is a punk and thug. To give that guy any benefit of the doubt is the acme of stupidity.

BTW, NFL corners are brash and they talk trash. That is part of their DNA. You might not like it, but that's the way they are.
