OMG the IF game where no one losses, yeah great way to have a conversation.

Just give it up already, Wade isnt as bad as people want him to be.

Yes he is.

Some people are just not smart enough to see it.

Name another NFL Owner that would have hired Wade as a head coach.

This should be a threadkiller but some people won't be smart enough to realize it. :muttley:

Its an unanswerable question. Come on. Thats like saying how many teams were gunning for Ron Riveria and I remember posters on this board wanted the guy.

Its not a thread killer and its someone who cant have a conversation or listen to other opinions so they try to ask something no one could answer. But the question doesnt need to be answered because the guy created defenses everywhere he went. And hes had multiple stops, so its not like he doesnt know what hes doing. The bottom line this year is he has only lost to undefeated teams. Now that may not be enough for posters who dont understand football, and they are really sparkling in this thread, but the guy has done well for some organizations and I fully believe his defense was good last year. Yes they have problems this year, they are also inserting some new players and giving the reigns to two second year players. If this defense shapes up and gets better, a lot of people are going to reverse thinking around here. If not, than yes, those that cant see are going to scream for Wade, yet even against evidence of what i have shown in this thread about other coaches, but some people cannot read a coaching roster nor understand there are multiple coaches on a team.

But its easy to gang up and go with one thought regardless of evidence.

But he hasn't won anywhere he's went.

This isn't about Wade the DC, its about Wade the HC. He has time and again taken over good teams and done nothing with them. A guy doesn't get fired as many times as he has because they are paving a way to Canton.

Look I like the guy, would love to have a beer with him and talk football. But he's not NFL HC material, and has proved it in several stops even before this one.

Barring a miracle Superbowl win Wade will be gone this offseason. I'll bet you whatever you want to bet that no other NFL team will remotely consider him for their HC opening. None.

I have argument fatigue on this, but just for the record, it was reported by more than one source that AJ Smith would've hired Wade if we hadn't first.

That doesn't even make sense. Wade was already employed by San Diego.

Link?

Um, no he wasn't. We hired him first.

www.google.com

So he wasn't the defensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers in 2006?

So they wouldn't have every opportunity in the world to promote him to HC after pushing Marty out, but they somehow got snaked by Jerry?

Gimme a better link than Google.

Compared to people on a board sitting around thinking they could do better, yeah I am, whatever you want to think of Wade he has us at 3-2 and a couple teams would love to have that problem.

Well, a big vote of confidence for Wade!!!

We hired him, then they fired Marty after that, remember?

This is under "rumor" but I remember at the time that Smith supposedly said this. It was on SD message boards, too. It's all I'm going to look for because this is wearing me out.

Of course, Smith was in Buffalo with Wade.

No I forgot that, but then again if there was a real strong desire to keep Phillips the decision to fire Marty for him could have been made much sooner.

The rumor you linked was weeks into the season, when the Cowboys were 4-0 and he Chargers 1-3. Lots of "anonymous' stuff surfaces in that scenario.

I won't ask you for more, but I still dont see this as a ringing endorsement of "OMG we have to keep Wade!" when they let him walk and then weeks later fire their HC. Heck even Jerry was paying Red extra cash to keep him around.

Looks like speculation to me based on the circumstances of the early part of that season.
