That is admirable but I do not see the connection to what these players do within a small window of time. Witten's has been longer than most because of his regimen to stay in shape and we do not know just what his involvement has been with other younger players. Also, FYI, even though I work in a very different environment Than professional sports I have always seen it as my role to help my coworkers develop and grow in order to reach their potential. I have especially been careful to help my junior colleagues reach their maximum potential because what helps them helps my work team. That’s why Many years ago they chose me as their department leader. It should never just be about yourself on the job it should be about helping those around you so that the team performs to its potential. Sadly that seems to be a value which has been lacking on the Dallas Cowboys for many many years
The root of this problem is not Witten, it is the culture established on the team by management. Management that wouldn't allow the HC to increase fines for players selfish enough to show up late for meetings.
Hagman, I can tell you from being in business for 50 years that your kind of selflessness is the exception, not the rule. And in my experience, employees that did show that interest in the younger ones were not as selfless as you, they wanted to be seen as management material.
