Back Up QB Lacks Talent

Cam Newton is out there, but I doubt he'd be a backup. And like xwalker said, someone like that is likely a media distraction to the team.

Get over what exactly? I have no attachment to whether Dinucci becomes a great QB or not. You on the other hand is totally fixated on the idea that Dinucci will never amount to anything. Why is that?

Just watch him during training camp and preseason. He simply isn't that good.

I think there are guys now who can get hot in games, like make Trint Dilfer look silly. The talent isn't terrible, game to game. The hardest part of being an NFL QB is being good consistently. That's why so few can do it.

I don’t even wanna go any further because it’s apparent, teams are not out here paying big money to have great backup qbs. If your starter goes out for a long time you’re toast that just how nfl teams are operating. Cooper rush is as good as any of the listed above qbs. The days of a Tom Brady sitting behind drew Bledsoe are over brother. You just want a backup who can get you a win or 2 while your guy is nicked that’s about all you can ask for.

no backup qb is winning for you in the playoffs. You’re hoping your backup can keep you afloat for a couple of games until your starter gets back. If you think any backup qb out there is taking you to the playoffs and winning then you’re the one on good drugs. Cooper is about as good a backup as any in this league

We'll see what he does this camp. That's what it'll come down to. Of course he wasn't great last year. Big jump for a guy like him.

I've seen guys like him make the jump before. He'd have to make a really big jump this year, but lots of people are high on DiNucci. I'm semi-warm on him, as maybe a project guy. All I'll ever know is what I see in preseason, etcetera.
