With the potential that this year's defensive roster has, Coop and other bus drivers like him could succeed with this offense.

That's really what McCarthy has to do. Let Quinn's boys do their job and just don't let SleepNumber **** it up.

It’s Rushes job to lose. Will Grier would have to totally out play Rush to replace him as a backup. The Cowboys have confidence in Rush, he’s 5-1. Will Grier on the other hand is 0-2 as a starter in the NFL with a 53.8 completion percentage.
Yeah. I don't really see it as a competition because of that. Rush would have to absolutely suck and be completely outplayed by Grier due to the team's won-lost record with Rush.

Grier has the stronger arm, better mobility, etc., but you can't beat winning. Dallas knows that Rush can do that in the regular season. Doesn't mean Grier can, just that Rush took advantage of his opportunity to show he can.

I would like to see Grier win the number 2 qb position , I just would he is far more mobile, in the pocket. and he has a stronger arm as well. Rush has done well when he has played ,I just think Grier has more to offer.
It's hard to weigh intangibles. Rush appears to have a very high football IQ that helps him overcome his physical shortcomings some.

The Cowboys like Grier’s athleticism/mobility, but they’ve won games with Rush. That gives him a huge edge.

All I know is Rush plays under control doesn’t turn it over and is 5-1 in 2 seasons

Oh really? All I know is he has 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles in 6 career starts. That's seems like he's turning it over. The dude bus drove his way to those wins. I guess Bubby Brister should have started over John Elway in 1998 and Brock Osweiler should have stared over Peyton Manning in 2015 because they didn't turn the ball over and had winning records. You act like he carried us to those wins. That's not sustainable over a 17 game schedule. He's a career backup bus driving QB. That's all I know and mostly all I'll ever know about Cooper Rush.

Backup QBs are supposed to be bus drivers. Dallas problem is the 160 million dollar man is also of the same variety.

under control ??? seriously :lmao:

what exactly did you watch during that stretch? yes the team's five and one with him back there that four in one record last year he had two interceptions called back in washington, I don't care official or not I saw them get easily picked off had it not been for a penalty, he had two fumbles in the Rams game with 107 passing yards LOL that we recovered, those count even getting them back. 3 interceptions in the Philly game.. p under control, no mistake football is an absolute exaggeration....

the man got lucky we had a team that in three phases of football was playing out of their mind elite ball around him... Prescott gets back they start fumbling on special teams, the defense starts giving up 200 yard games, starts blowing leads on the road... I mean let's let's calm down Cooper rush was not careful with the football, he got lucky.

So I guess every time Cooper rush comes in we have to expect the offense defense and special teams and the line and the run game to play out of their mind elite ball again ??

is that what you're counting on ?

I mean that's what happened, we all watched it as a team we could not have played better. We literally probably could have ran a Wildcat and won those games without a quarterback back there that's how good they were...
that didn't happen all year, we watched when Prescott got back the defense taking a little bit of breath starting to give up 200-yard games on the ground, blowing leads etc we need to score 40 points to win a game. Some people have this like short memory of what really happened back then but I know what I saw was a team that could not have played better but you can't maintain that for 17 games and you have to have a player you can count on to at least score points..
Now him versus will Greir.. I don't know I didn't see enough of will Greir but I know this if you think that this team is going to do that every time Prescott gets hurt and all of a sudden, they just play out of their mind elite for A 5 game stretch?? no that's not happening.
That is a good reason for preseason I know there's a thread saying we don't need much preseason this battle between quarterbacks we'll get to see first hand..

You have to count on that with just about any backup QB you bring in. When you’re stuck with a backup QB your team has to step up. At least Cooper Rush has won some games in the NFL. Will Grier is 0-2 as an NFL starter. He’s only completed 53% of his passes. He has no TD passes and 4 INTs. He has a career passer rating of 33.2.

Look, I get that but I'm tired of hearing about how safe Cooper rush was with the football when it's an absolute illusion of what went down when he played...

yes Greir versus Rush is kinda hard to go against Rush but in general he's way overrated and you know why we know what the league thinks of him is because they made no effort to get him from the Cowboys. I'm saying around here we still have some people that think Cooper rush could have won that 49er game because he's so careful with the football he would have just stayed within the context of the game and he wouldn't have made any errors...hmm really??

I guess that defense which in my opinion is better than the Philly defense where he threw three interceptions... all I'm saying is there's a giant illusion among fans of how Cooper rush is so methodical and safe and he's not, definitely not, he's an average backup at best..

Isn't the bigger question is if that's true about will Greir why is he still here why don't we have another option to push Rush?

31 GM's saw good film on Rush... he is still here, there is a very loud minority here trying to push the greatness of Rush on us..lol. He is a backup, he won games and deserves credit for not losing them.. 31 GM's agree with this.

:hammer:  You are correct and this but this is the odd thing the irony is really thick that there are some fan base out there on Facebook social media that still says if Cooper rush would have started against the 49ers we would have won that game that's how snowed over they are with that five in one record.. Just like you remember that year Matt Cassel went 11 and five with the New England Patriots right he's an 11/5 quarterback right?? lol :facepalm:

I think the depth chart is almost in ink this year. The only question is do we keep 3 QBs on the 53 with the rule change. I suspect we only will if Dak is a little nicked up

This year they can have 3 and not count against it, that does start this year correct? They basically put this rule in affect because of the free ride the Eagles got in the NFCCG..

Rush has what it takes between the ears, his issue has always been arm strength.
If Rush had a great offseason in the strength and conditioning program than he did himself a huge service.
Hope Grier is pushing Rush hard, comp vs the QB2s is in dire need.
