Only one breakdown from Thursday's game, but I thought it was interesting considering the criticism Nahshon Wright is getting here in this forum. Furthermore, even though this clip isn't devoted to a critique of our defensive line, notice the pass rush on the outside and the pressure on the inside.

That was really well played. He was actually covering two receivers there.

It's not just DTs getting pressure. They need discipline too. If they stay in their lanes the QB has no where to go when the two outside guys win. This is what the Eagles do so well. They get pressure but don't give the QB a lane to escape through.

I hope he continues to develop. and I also hope they keep rotating him in so he isn't left exposed too long that seems to be working for several guys out there.

Just a general comment about the DT's: When you have 5 linemen blocking 4 defenders, you have one automatic double team. On most teams that's Center and LG or RG on a DT. With Dallas, I am seeing a ton of plays where the DE's are getting doubled by a G and T. Then offenses use a TE and/or RB as a backup blocker to take anyone who gets through OR they double the other DE.

That blocking scheme has really hurt Dallas. The lack of DT competence has made life harder for the DE's.

I suspect this is one of those minor tactical adjustments that one team makes and when it works, everyone afterwards copies it.

Of course I will stupidly trick myself into thinking maybe Jerry and his dopey son will understand the value of high level DT play this coming offseason.
Ignore another former player saying Wright played well to pick on dts lol

That's why nobody pays you for your football opinions. They're not good.
Truth hurts. And sometimes it stanks. Dak gave a team of Titan backups a chance to win the game with his poor play. Mister Moustache gave him 4 turnovers and Dak still was a fumble away from a L.

When we look back at the past quarter century of football teams that failed to go deep into the playoffs the one constant was mediocre (or worse) defenses. Jerry is obsessed with offenses and Jersey sales, glitz and glamor.
offense sells more jerseys....

Dak was an affordable rental while they looked for a franchise QB. Problem was the front office forgot he was just a rental and changed to a rent to own plan. You want a DT? So do I. Take a 100 million from Avg Dak and you could have one.
we had 20M on the cap this year and chose not to sign a DT. same last year....your bullshiet doesn't fly.

and name the DT you would have signed? and how much did they cost?

Gallimore has been bad, I wish they bring up Rush or stick Gohlston on his spot permanently.

We won by 14. Offense put up 27, which is only "bad" by Dak's lofty standards. Dak tossed 2 TDs with 0 turnovers in the 2nd half.

Learn football. Your opinion here is still complete trash.

No DT pressure is a very common cause to why we get bounced in the playoffs. Especially the last 2 losses (Niners, Rams). Absolutely got manhandled up front and both teams had their way with us. Rams had like 300 yards rushing. Niners got yards on the ground anytime they wanted and we never really forced Jimmy to beat us.

Yet every single year, we try to go cheap at DT and prefer quantity over quality. We never build inside out. Our DT, MLB, safeties are usually weak overall. This is a terrible recipe.

He made a splash play. Not taking that away.

Wright also had a bullseye on his back the entire game and was one of the reasons Dobbs was moving the ball as well as he was through the air. He didn’t have to throw against Bland or Diggs.

The hype over the INT can easily overshadow flaws in his game— lack of speed, agility, route recognition etc… that a more skilled QB will exploit.

I hope he gets better and embraces the opportunity and proves me wrong. I am scared of what Rodgers or Brady may do to him (us) if he trotted out there as an assumed “starting caliber” CB

This is more accurate and I share your concern. Not sure it would even take a Brady/Rodgers type to exploit, just maybe a little above a just called up 8 day practice squad journeyman.

Great. Wright played well according to Baldy. I like Baldy. I like his insights. If he says Wright was good, then who am I to question. I trust these guys over you guys waxing on about how awesome he was. And I hope he becomes a stud in the playoffs and locks down the one CB spot and that's one less problem we have to solve in the offseason.

But the reality is DT is way more pressing a problem than Wright or any CB and has been a noticeable problem for years.
