I agree. I think we handicap ourselves a bit by essentially staying out of free agency until the prices drop. I believe we should consider all options. Maybe you end up with a Matt Judon because you're willing to pay $54 million over four years. That has turned out to be a decent contract, but it's not one the Joneses would have even considered. There are options other than paying less than $5 million a year or paying more than $20 million a year.

Or they could have gotten Von Miller and then he gets hurt and they miss out on Armstrong and Fowler.

True. There is risk involved, which is part of the reason why the Joneses switched strategies. I think there's a middle ground between what they are doing now and the wildcatter that Jones was.

I think it was a good move to not sign Bobby Wagner and sign Barr and LVE instead. Also Noah Brown was a bargain.

I don't know about that one. I might rather have Wagner than both. Plus, realistically, signing Wagner would have not prevented us from re-signing LVE. Wagner is costing $2.5 million this year. Barr is costing $1.9 million this year. It isn't necessarily an either-or proposition when you're making a splash.

The deal with Armstrong and Fowler sure worked out well. If they would have gotten Gregory and Miller it would have been a disaster.

Of course I will stupidly trick myself into thinking maybe Jerry and his dopey son will understand the value of high level DT play this coming offseason.

it really blew me that Suh and Joseph were sitting there, and we could have had them both w/o giving up a draft pick. Rotated them with the young talent we have.

Same here. Not gonna lie. When Dak went down I wanted to tank for Jalen Carter. Then I realized. Even with a top 5 pick. Jerry would draft a WR. I cried, poured some scotch and realized nothing will change.

would love for them to trade up and get Carter. Maybe trade up with Lions?

How did you feel about signing Hilton or Fowler, or Turpin? You can't get them all.

He made a splash play. Not taking that away.

Wright also had a bullseye on his back the entire game and was one of the reasons Dobbs was moving the ball as well as he was through the air. He didn’t have to throw against Bland or Diggs.

The hype over the INT can easily overshadow flaws in his game— lack of speed, agility, route recognition etc… that a more skilled QB will exploit.

I hope he gets better and embraces the opportunity and proves me wrong. I am scared of what Rodgers or Brady may do to him (us) if he trotted out there as an assumed “starting caliber” CB

4.4 forty time, not slow

Only one breakdown from Thursday's game, but I thought it was interesting considering the criticism Nahshon Wright is getting here in this forum. Furthermore, even though this clip isn't devoted to a critique of our defensive line, notice the pass rush on the outside and the pressure on the inside.

A dumb play by a QB.

It's nice that he jumped and caught it. Better than dropping it. But that's not really what I call "coverage", standing in front of a stationary WR.

Game speed vs timed speed do not always correlate, neither does straight line speed and short area quickness.

He has length and size, and showed some instincts for sure, but he was also slow and out of position on routes.

Dobbs completed 7/10 passes for over 100 yards when looking his way. Dobbs. Let that sink in.

Glad Wright at least got the last laugh, but let’s not act like the kid locked his side of the field down lol
