Barber 3 straight Carries @ Goal Line STINKS and smells terrible. Play Action Pass down there scores an easy TD. I am getting less and less crazy about Garrett. I am at the point I want changes at HC and OC.

If I look up your history of posts, am I going to find that you had the same complaint when we couldnt score against seattle when we blew the two fade routes to williams and bennett?

yes or no?

You know its easy to 2nd guess the play calling, but we supposedly have a huge O-line making hundreds of millions, and a $45M power back playing against a team with their 4th string NT in the game.

Is one yard on 3 carries really so much to ask?

I really want to blow up the Oline next year, they may be the most over-rated facet of this over-rated team.

I would've called 4 straight runs too.

There is no reason not to score with our massive line and Marion Barber from a foot out.

You really want to blame that on Garrett? Really???????????

Im off the Garrett bandwaggon myself but you gotta show some sense.

I am not against the 3 carries from the 1 but I did not like the 4th down call because I knew Marion was getting the ball - knew it and I am sure the Chargers did too.

That said, the play action we ran later was an EASY score was it not?

Line Backers said knew what we were doing down there on the one yard line; no kidding they knew, we were on the one yard line. What do you do on the one. You find out whose big dogs are stronger and you find out if the RB is ellusive enough to twist and turn his way in there. I had zero problem with running it up the middle three times. I did have a problem with the last one though with Barber at FB. Line him up at TB and power it in there. The first two were completely Barber's fault. Dieon killed it on the first two and Barber didn't run behind him. Put your head down, follow your blocker and twist/turn your way in there.

I agree. We ran the ball over the RG/RT three straight times and we didn't get it done. Would have been nice to see us try the other side or even a QB sneak. I don't know. Doesn't really matter. It shouldn't take three rushes to get a yard.

I'm not a JG fan at all and have been calling for his head for a long time now. However, he didnt blow that at all. If he would have ran some fancy bootleg or play action and it didnt work you would be calling for his head for getting to fancy and not pounding it in.

My problem with garrett has been that i dont like the way he hasnt figured out how to stop teams with over aggressive defenses to pay for blitzing us non stop. Its been going on for too long. I only ask that he puts our players in position to succeed. He did that just fine with the running plays from the goal line. It was just a failure of the O line to not open up a hole at all or get any push. If the line does their job i could run through it and i have not played football in years.

You can look up past history but the bottom line running the same play 3 straight times is rediculous. But answering your Question about Seattle is three seasons later and Barber is not the same back right now he was three seasons ago. Would you like to argue that with me?

I love play action pass at the goal line, but here's the problem.

Game situation. We had just run it down their throats for 8 plus plays to get a first and goal from the four.

If Garrett had tried to go with a pass and something really negative occurred, i.e. a SACK or INT, we'd want him fired on the spot.

Garrett did exactly what he should have done in that spot.

I don't know about that, but you will find three exclamation points.

Thats the beauty of it. Thats football. Will on will.

If you need a yard and you got a huge Oline and MB3 and your coach calls that then its gut check time. You have to impose your will from that distance.

three seasons ago? It was october 25th.

Everyone whined garrett sucked because he called for two fades inside the 5 and they didnt work everyone said run it with barber.

Now yesterday we ran it with barber and everyone is saying garrett sucks and should have thrown it to the tight ends or williams.

no one seems interesting in analyzing the play of the right guard who has stunk up the joint 90 % of the season.

nope just blame garrett and/or romo.

Garrett's 4th-and-nothing failure was no different from Switzer's load-left. Rember that bull****? It was Switzer then and Garrett now - Bozo the Coach reincarnated!

Rember that early game (Denver?) When Garret called the same fade route mutiple ocnsecutive times? It didn't work then, and Garrett's same philosophical approach to play-calling still does not work, as he so kindly demonstrated once again.

Defenes have come to know that once he runs a red-zone play that they initially stop then Garrett will stubbournly go back at it. Even the Chargers LBs said that after hte game. Thasy knew what was coming and called specific defensive allignments to stop it.

Well I've defended the call and have no problem with running it, but if what you say is true that Davis has stunk "90% of the season" then the call to run behind him 3 straight times looks much worse. Not sure why we were running to Free's side either.

The offensive line was whipped at the point of attack.Look at all the San Diego players driving on the ball.

Look at the San Diego TD earlier in the game.Brooking and Co. have been turned around and blown off the ball.

It doesn't matter if you call the same play.In that situation you have to have trust in your line to blow the defenders off the ball. You have to put your trust in a power back to drive the ball.None of that happened and it cost them points.

San Diego can say they knew the play,it shouldn't matter if you truly have a dominant line with a yard to go.

Thats the point I'm trying to make. Garrett does not know how to mix things up and keeps teams off guard. He runs crap over and over and makes the Offense very predictable.

I was ok with it the first couple of tries. But, seriously, you've got to adjust at that point cause it was obvious our O-Line and barber were not up to the task of getting that 1 yard.

I don't have problem with calling consecutive run play but how about trying at least one run from a spread formation instead. Spread the defense out a bit to give the defense little something to think about other than a run only.
