Barbie is on 1st Take... again... recap post #18

Well...I guess we know who the rat is ... :)

I think Barbie does have a personal grind with Owens.....didnt they have a altercation?

That being said....the perceived distraction is what caused most of the circus and yes Owens should get blamed some because he is such a media moth but some of those mediots sure made it a bigger issue then it was.

There is alot more issues on this team then chemistry....better coaching...better decision making....more accountable...better leadership...etc....would certainly help.

Oh,

Barbie should just stop stealing money and get into broadcasting....... JMHO

Ok so lay your chips down:

a) traded this draft weekend
b) cut after season
c) starter in nickel
d) cut before season and signs with the fish

c) starter

Don't necessarily believe it, but wouldn't that be grand?

If he can play like he did in the Seattle game, I have no idea why he never gets on the field, even if it is just to let Ware, James, Ellis, etc.. catch a breather or something.

He's had a chance every time he attended training camp and got a roster spot. It's on him to earn more than a ST role. He hasn't earned any more PT than that.

Not really.

It seems Wade and Jerry have made their minds up the last two seasons about the other ILB spot by signing FA veterans.

I don't think Thomas was going to sign here last season or Brooking this year unless Wade promised them the job.

And we all know Wade is not going to go back on his word.

The man played Brad Johnson last year. He played Corey Procter last year. He played Pacman who was coming off missing 6 games. He played Flozell with one arm. He tried to play MBIII with one foot. He brought back Newman too early.

He has a history of not making the right decision.

or the flip side:

all of those bums got in the game but Carp isn't even in that level of bumness

Poor, poor Bobby. The Man just won't give him a break.

Maybe if I were local or ever listened to Carpenter I'd understand why people hate the guy so much.

It's a weird situation when a player makes a point of doing shows so we can get an off-season Cowboys fix, and the fans hate him for it.

Carpenter has the worst performance to public presence ratio on the team, so I think people think that he should hide and speak when spoken to. Spencer, although also potentially an undeserved 1 st round pick, is infinitely more productive than Carp and is barely heard from.

Those are actually pretty astute comments from Carpenter. And he didn't shy away from his take on TO, which is refreshing.

Its refreshing when a bench rider starts yapping about a player thats gone but when Newman talks he needs to "shut up". Cool

I am so glad that some people on this board aren't GM's. Who would prefer a guy who doesn't produce and want to get rid of another player who produces.

And who was going to beat Thomas out? No one here. Maybe they stopped looking too soon but I don't have a problem with Thomas starting.

While I do hold Brad over Jerry's and Wade's heads I put the very vast majority of that on Red on the Head. You put someone like Red in charge while you're the GM or HC and you say something like "Are you sure Brad can do it if Tony goes down?"

Wade played Corey Proctor because the OL coach told him and Red Corey was the best guy for the job. I will remind you Wade picked neither of those two coaches. If you say so what I'd have pulled him anyway then ok. But then you fire those two guys and bring your own in here if your *** is on the line. Think Wade could fire his OL coach or OC Jerry hired?

Pacman is on him and Stewart. Stewart and Pacman are gone. His FRIEND was fired because the defense is Wade's toy to play with. BTW, I may be in the minority but Pacman has skills. Only way to find out is to play them.

I'd have replaced Flo unless someone told me differently so were back to that again. I'm not certain we had someone better than Flo and that's an awfully painful thing to say assuming it's true.

I have no problem trying to play MB esp since the owner called him out for not playing. Reasons on several levels to allow MB to prove Jerry wrong and maybe use him to win a game. He didn't leave him in. No problem here with the use of MB.

Same with Newman. Only way to know if they can play is ask can you go. Put them in and see what they can do.

I have no problem with anyone thinking differently unless of course they merely have an agenda. Not saying you do but I do wonder.

Carpenter is still warming up for his next career.

Dallas should speed it up for him.

Has a number 1 pick/bust ever garnered so much national media attention?

Only in Dallas.

Why would he even want to put himself out there?

The dude is a first round pick, and he plays special teams.

Please keep Marcus Freeman away from Dallas.

He did win a starting job under Parcells. If you look at Wade since he has been with the Cowboys you will notice he stiucks with his veterans to the point of absurdity.

Felix Jones: barely saw the field despite making big play after big play.
Choice: Only got playing time after injury.
Bennett: Injuries to Hurd, Austin, RW, Witten, and Curits get him on the field. He is phased out even after he has several big games.
Spencer: Ellis is playing like garbage and still gets more snaps and all pass rushing downs.
Free: Flo is on one arm and one leg and this guy doesn't even see a snap.
Ratliff: takes Ferg getting hurt for him to see the field.
Jenkins/Scandrick: Pacman is freelancing, Henry is slow and Newman is hurt yet these two only get playing time when a vet is injured.

Lets face it with Thomas on the roster there was no way Wade was going to take him off the field. Once James showed that he could play two years ago that was it. Everyone likes to forget that Parcells started Carp over Singleton 3 years ago and he played well.

If Felix Jones can light the world on fire and still not get 10 snaps a game then what makes you think anyone else has a chance. Wade SUCKS at developing players.

I think you're right that that's what people think, I just don't understand why. Being a Cowboy player and well liked by important players on the team makes him more interesting to listen to than a local radio jock, doesn't it? Why get mad at the guy for going on the air in the offseason?

Damn everyone he really hasnt had a chance to play! How do you know he wouldnt be good...they havent given him a chance!

That argument can be used for every guy that never played a down in the NFL, but made the roster of a team.

You'll notice they do not talk about what he says but rather just that he saying anything.
