I saw a guy who looked athletic and poised. Ideal size for the position and high quality athletic traits. He was moving effortlessly and for a guy who was knocked for needing to add strength seemed to have no issue against the “scrubs”.
And you feel that will translate to starting and pro bowl level de’s? This is essentially his rookie year.

I think once they saw him play the snaps in TC and PS they saw he wasn’t as developmental as we were lead to believe at draft time. If you go back and watch his play along with the staffs thoughts about him once they got their hands on him, you’ll find that he was much more capable than we thought,

I genuinely think had he stayed healthy he’d have been the go-to swing T. To me it’s not quite as big of a project to starter transition as assumed.
It’s a huge step but we will see. I really liked him coming out but felt his technique was poor and he needed to get much stronger. I liked his potential

It’s obviously not a certainty, but it’s not unheard of for rookies to be able to play well lol. Look at Bland last season.

From what I saw, yes I think he can become a player this season. Not willing to bet my house on it but it’s not out of the question.

I've been wondering about the same, but would frame it as a 'hope'.
The team says he developed strength, his biggest question mark- and honed in on his technique to leverage his elite length.

Guys like Morgan Moses prove that you can be very effective even if a marginal athlete leveraging as such.

Him developing has become much more probable.

The bold predictions is that Tyler Smith starts the entire season at LG.
Key Stat: "The Cowboys ranked first in the NFL last year in "red-zone" scoring, finding the end zone 71.4 percent of the time. They were third in "goal-to-go" situations, with a touchdown 84.5 percent of their trips. That usually begins and ends with the strength of the interior of the line."

But @CowboyRoy said we suck because McGov is gone
