I never was a BSG person, I am thinking this is why.

So the reason you weren't into BSG is that while people were talking about the new one, you were talking about the old one?

The old BSG was cheesy no arguement and the last bit 1980 was the worst. The new one was a lot better but just as ridiculous in some ways. I watched the first 3-4 episodes and just rolled my eyes; went back the second season and could only watch one. Hollywood somehow thinks that if you are a drunk or crazy or something like that you can still get things done. Most of the charactors on the New BSG were lucky to be able to get out of their own way, they were so messed up.

It was confusing that it was screwed up in the 70s vs. 80s versions, THEN they decided to redo it into yet a new story for the last decade. Too many Battlestar Galacticas, and a movie might be out sometime with more of the original/original story.

That's kind of the point... they were not a collection of the best in the world. They were all that was left of mankind, comprised of whoever was on any sort of aircraft when the world below was obliterated. All the characters have major flaws. The Battlestar Galactica ship was the oldest piece of junk in the fleet. The only reason it survived was that the ships systems were analog, so the cylons couldn't get into the network.

The 1970/80's series was campy. But, I really liked the one done in the 2000's. Worth checking out, in my opinion.

Yeah, the new one was great. I am always down for a good space opera.

You don't get it- as messed up as those idiots were they never would have gotten away at all. Hollywood thinks its the way it is; no bunch of morons like that would ever survive anywhere. Hollywood has this idea that screwed up to the point that you can't function is interesting; then these same losers are going to win a war? IDIOTIC.

To a certain extent I agree. It's not realistic.

But movies were never made to be realistic. If they were all characters without significant personality flaws, there wouldn't be plot points or obstacles. It wouldn't be much of a story, or to be precise it would be much more difficult to have a story.

Certainly you can make a movie/tv show that is realistic. But those tend to be dismissed as "fringe" shows, or "unorthodox" productions.

Whatever, man. You are way overplaying how inept they were. And, missing the point. ;)

It was shot in Canada and a lot of the cast is Canadian, so Hollywood doesn't have much to do with it.

And if you bothered to watch the first 15 minutes like you claim you did, you'd realize the "losers" didn't win the war, they lost it in the very first episode.

The first war. I guess maybe I need to make it more simpler for some to understand.

Maybe you think Hollywood is only in california? The mentality is entertainment world wide. Hopefully you learned something. But I doubt it.

As regards the actual so called soldiers. Maybe you think Stripes was real as well? Because frankly these guys made the crazies on Stripes look like Pros.

More to the point: I think people who are barely able to get out of their own way are boring. And that basically is what populated that series.

Someone has an inflated sense of self importance. :laugh2:

No one seems to really care whether you liked the show or not, I'm not trying to convince you to like it so get over yourself.

Personally I'm pretty sure the show would have sucked without the off-beat characters.

:clap2: Nicely stated.

If it were possible, I would find the creators of that video and shoot them ...
