If TO is back I fully expect him to go out and do his job my complaint with him at times is not so much his play it is his comments which need to be toned down.

Yeah what about when the Giants were struggling to win a playoff game with Eli Manning in 05' and 06', what did they do? Oh yeah, they got rid of arguably their best two players at the time in Tiki Barber (retirement and was doing all of this in-season) and Jeremy Shockey (loud mouth and team divider) because they were DISTRACTIONS. What happened in 07'? We know the rest of the story. Stats aren't everything. You don't need dominating players at every position to win a ring and you DEFINITELY don't need a #1 WR to win a ring (I would argue that Santonio Holmes is the best #2 WR in the league). Like an earlier thread this week, can T.O. be our Tiki/Shockey?

But they kept Burress just as much of a pain in the butt if not more.

UGGH.

How many of these threads are you handful of guys going to make.

If you cant grasp the concept of a team and how a team operates fine, go watch more football but your not convincing anyone with this notion that he is the only reason we have a chance on offense.

Owens at 35, stilll demands double teams every single game. Teams aren't doing it because they are still giving him credit for his past - they know if they don't he will light you up like he did against San Francisco.

Troy Aikman has been very vocal about his criticism for our 9 million dollar man Roy Wi11iams. Lazy, runs poor routes, and isn't very smart.

Sign me up for the man that wants to win more than life itself, and has proven each year that he will be productive regardless of the QB, system, or jersey.

Whats the only thing worse than losing Owens? Losing Owens to a team inside our own division that we hate more than anything else in this world.

Why do teams double team him every game?

I guess DeMarcus Ware is in the contingent with us handful of guys too.

I agree, fans need to watch what they wish for. But we'll start seeing the posts " man where's T.O" when he's in oakland and where at 1-3 or 2-4, because I sure as hell ain't got no faith in roy, and if T.O goes I'll start praying that miles can actually be our guy

I have said many times if he'd keep his mouth shut and do his job. I have no problems with him.

Please Burress didn't become a pain until this season. Plax was not a constant pain before this season where it would become a distraction to the team. Barber,Shockey were.

He was late for meetings and missed several team functions.

Twice the thug Owens is.

Exactly, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

Keep Ownes, just don't say **** about this team and the circus it's created next season. Remember, you wished for it.

Oh please where have you been. Burress was being a pain during the SB run when the Giants got off a rough start that season and was a pain in the butt in Pitt where they did not mind letting him go

Leaving T.O. one on one is stupid. He still has ability.

But as this year proved he is on the decline because defenses pretty much learned how to take him out the gameplan. Jam him and safety over top. He was beating that with ease in 2007. Not this year.

True and that is where others have to step up, if a defense is dedicating a CB and safety to 1 player others need to step it up and make the play. If that happens then teams can't put as much focus on Owens.

stats, stats, stats.

:laugh2:

whenever someone spews them you just know they don't know much about the game on the field, only video games and fantasy football.

where is the stat on being a LOSER and TEAM OBLITERATOR?

'cause TO is flawless in that dept.

You know, I kind of have to agree.

You look at Owens career, and he's won big every place he's been.

Heck, the three years he's been with us is widely considered the greatest three year stretch in franchise history.

Am I right?

Yeah but who was that one guy they kept that makes these situations night and day different...man if only I could think of who that one guy was for Eli...

OH that's it! Burress. Exactly.

Little easier to 'let go' of Jeremy Shockey, a TE, when you've got Burress on the outside as their number one target anyway. It's not like they let go of their number one option.

Also the Giants didn't get rid of Tiki, as you mentioned he retired, and planned to through out the entire season before that.

Made that situation a whole lot easier, as well, when you could use the three headed monster in his place and not miss a beat.

These are apples and oranges in comparision.

That said I still don't believe that this team will be crippled if TO is gone. I could be wrong, most certainly, but I'd have faith in Roy to step up and be the #1 that he was brought here to be in the future. He'd just have to do it sooner than previously thought. :)

But, also, if Owens winds up staying here I will not be upset. I'll chear for his 1,000+ yards and 10+ TDs again this year, like the others as well.
