Nope. I don't think it is. They might sneak in but I don't see them as a true playoff team.

Sneak is a great descriptor. Our D can't hold up to the firepower of the other playoff teams. Our O, when firing on all cylinders can keep up with anyone in the league, but most times we are a Turbo Charged V8 running on 3 to 4 cylinders max :):)

F they can't beat the Packers who have a QB whose been cut by 5 teams, then they don't deserve to be there.

This game will tell us for sure.

That about sums it up. If we lose to the Packers, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

the Romo factor sure helped this past Monday

scoring 14 points!

The 5-11 teams were stronger than this current team. The only difference is the QB play. In fact, the D's during the 5-11 teams moved mountains compared this current unit.

Never was. Wrong personnel for the defense, wrong co ordinator.

With there being so much parity in the league, and the fact that six teams make it from each conference, the term "playoff team" means something different than it used to. So yeah, in the present sense, we are (possibly). In the classic sense, not really. But every year now, there are one or two teams in each conference who really don't have much business being there. I would put this team in that category. Although, a couple years ago, Seattle won their division with a 7-9 record. Nobody thought they'd do anything, and they ended up beating the Saints.

We're here because our division is a joke, if it wasn't we'd be looking at a top 5 pick.

Half the divisions in the league are just as bad as ours, if not worse. 14 teams currently have a worse strength of schedule than we do.

We can make the playoffs but I'm not under any delusions of thinking we can win it with our defense and our coaches.

McCarthy is a pretty good coach. I'm not being wise or taking an unnecessary shot at Jason Garrett here....But Dallas could very easily be outcoached in this game.

Hence, we don't win unless Romo and the offense score lots of points.

Lies

Philly - all defense

Rams - run game and defense

Giants - turnovers

Reds - turnovers, short field on kick returns

Minny - turnover swung momentum at the beginning of the third qtr.

Lions - the only reason we had a chance is because of defensive turnovers

Chargers - Romo's offense scored 14 points.

Chiefs - Romo's offense scored 16 points

Where would we be w/o the great romo factor?!

/sarcasm

:as bad as the defense has been, I wonder how much it would help if Romo's offense actually picked up a third down every now and then?

It also wouldn't hurt if jason Garrett knew how to manage a game. But that's another issue.

I'm certainly not claiming Crawford alone as a major loss. The point is it's an illustration of how far down the depth chart we've had to go. Ben Bass is another example. I don't see anyone here claiming either of those guys are superstars. It's the cumulative affect it has on a team when you lose a starter, then the backup, and even the backup to the backup in some cases. You end up having guys that would've been backups playing as starters, guys that would've been 3rd string getting significant playing time, and guys that wouldn't have even made the team seeing the field on at least a semi regular basis. The overall quality of the product on the field is diminished.

I consider Crawford a significant loss. He played well for us as a rookie, and we were relying on him at both the three and the five tech this season. This was the year for him to get the experience to replace Jason Hatcher in the rotation, and--after getting good reviews again in his offseason work--he didn't get a lick of it. The coaches like him. The players say a lot of good things about him. He was a developing young player at a position of significant need. No reason to pretend that isn't true just because it might be taken as an indication that we hit on a rotational draft pick. We said the same thing about Ron Leary last offseason, and that was roundly mocked, but it turns out we did, in fact, develop an interior OL starter and some of us saw it coming before it was widely acknowledged.

Bass, too, is another player who was looking like he could give us quality snaps at the one-tech. Obviously, these guys have to continue to develop and they have to deliver on their potential, but we don't exactly have to wait until their first pro bowl to realize we can count on them for legitimate snaps in the rotation.

We can win in the playoffs if we are playing either at home, or based on the matchup.

I will be the first true fan to say...No. Do I hope they make it...Yes

There is a truism about playoffs, " he who has defense WIN". With that said, I go for the blowout if Dallas makes it to the first playoff game 45-9 NOT Cowboys.

No. Not with what the injury situation has done to our defense.

Not the injuries to the defense, we had them last year.

With the terrible decision to go to the 4/3 defense and fire Ryan and hire Kiffin.

Lets tell it like it is and quit hiding behind the injury excuse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
