No one thinks Clausen is their future QB. If they can show some improvement on offense with Clausen that will speak more about Cutler's inabilities rather than Clausen's abilities. Compound that with the success they had with McCown last season and it will further emphasize that Cutler is not the answer. That doesn't mean Clausen or McCown are, either, but it will point to them needing to make a more permanent change at QB.

Perhaps, but they really are stuck with Cut whether they like him or not.

up until this year, people said they'd take cutler over romo.

the numbers prove he's a top 5 NFL QB. but he was in cutlers range to most critics going into this year. i don't understand.

outside of extreme religious fanatics there are none so crazy as romo haters

That's a 'real GM,' a bona-fide GM with all the credentials running the show in Chi-town. And plenty of 'real GMs' running similar circuses in Oakland, TB, Jax, NYJ, Wash, Miami, Clev, Tenn, Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Carolina, and SF.

What is that, 14 real GMs who put together laughable rosters?

benching Cutler means that they are seriously thinking of eating that cap hit and letting him go after the season.Which honestly is probably the best thing for the Bears. I can see the GM and Coach going as well - complete house clean.

I think you are right, but that is a lot of money to eat. That would be a$19.5 million in dead money they would owe Cutler if they cut him this off

I never understood the Trestman hire.

Me, either.

I can't believe I was sweating it out thinking we were gonna get beat by this team just 2 weeks ago....Just goes to show how brittle some NFL franchises are. I admit...didn't see this one coming.

Jay Cutler & Jeff George ~ gunslingers were overly confident in their arm-strength but lacked the mental capacity & necessary intangibles to lead a NFL team.

Candy for the fans. Takes pressure off team
As I recall, I once posted an article from a previous season thinking it was breaking news.

I think this is twice for me although not sure about the other one. Thanks for the support guys.
