At least they caught it before it became anything too serious. The medical staff will know just what to do. Don't get too upset nor overly concerned if Beasley gets some time off to rest it. It's just a warning sign. They'll heed it.

They should take this one slow too. Nothing but upside in letting him sit for a while. He's already shown he'll be ready to play this season.

And an achilles does not heal over night. This type injury can nag for weeks if not handled correctly. If he pulls it, can't be played upon until it completely heals. If it tears/ruptures, seasons over.
Frikin DC injuries all over the place pi$$n me off!! Garrett better tone it down.

Any injury to the Achilles' tendon is often slow to heal. I would shut down Beasley for a while

Agree. I just strained mine and it took weeks in a walking boot, rehab to finally get it back to the point that it feels/acts normal. I'm sure he will get great medical care, but this is not something that a player who relies on cutting / stop/start abilities can just ignore as the
potential for rupture is the next step....

I read that Garrett is going to back it off in camp now. The vets are resting and practices are going to be shortened. The players have their sea legs now. Film time...who wants it, and who doesn't want it.

No, what happens is the tendon itself swells and gets a knot in it that is sore. Runners get it all the time.

It's sore, but manageable. Very slow to heal, but he can play with it.

As long as that knot isn't too big.... otherwise the potential for rupture is greatly increased.... The achilles gets a very small amount of blood flow, that's why it takes longer to heal if strained...

They are trying to be cautious...some of his teammates are dunking him in and out, in and out into a big old tub of ice-water...messing with him, like bobbing for an Apple. Poor kid...sissy face runt. He is getting hazed...

Nice catch, didn't notice how I worded that initially.
