I disagree, when disecting the big picture there could be alot of benefit mainly because winning a Div. game in Novemeber really means little compared to winning Div. games in December and going into the Play-Offs rolling hot.

spot on and we've all lived through this, for a refresher - the past several years it has meant the Eagles or Giants end up winning at the end of the year when it really counts

I absolutely 100% agree. I don't even want to amplify that comment. I just agree.

Mic check 1, 2.

If you had to choose 1 win vs Philly in the 2009 regular season, would that win be in Nov. @ Philly or in Dec. @ Home?

I am not sure why you think you need the emoticon unless this isn't a serious question.

I'm going to treat it like it is one, even if I think the pretense is a bit silly. You can't pre-choose one or the other. I will say this, I think if we beat Philly now we are more likely to also beat them in December and if we lose to them now we are more likely to lose to them in December. A win has them reeling, a loss gives them confidence. I think they are the team in flux right now, not us.

Momentum in the NFL is often about confidence. We cannot build any if we are 0-2 in the Division and still have to face those same 2 teams again. 3-3 will not win the NFC East. 4-2 might. 5-1 will. I want to focus on the will win it, and go get this win.

Does that mean a loss dooms us? No, I do not pretend to be French and wave the white flag when I here a drum being played in the distance.

If we beat Filly (as you spell it), the sky would be limit for us this year. We would have a confidence that would probably carries to a playoff wins in years, hell maybe even the Superbowl. I have a feeling we might be Cards from last year, just a feeling. ;)

IMO this is the week Felix Jones will have his coming out party.

Its a low risk trying to get him the ball and he can make a big play any time he touches the ball.

We're on the road so we don't want to just try and throw the ball around the lot. Especially early in the game.

So I think this is the week we see Felix have close to 150 Total yards and he carries us to a W.

That's how I feel too.

Last year, when we went to Philly with the Playoffs on the line, I KNEW we were going to get beat.

This year I feel entirely different.

I see the defense harassing McNabb all day long, and Felix absolutely tearing the Eagles D apart.

We could easily lose this game, absolutely; but for some reason I feel really good about our chances.

The fact is; If the Dallas Cowboys are a Championship worthy team they will play well win or lose. If they really are a good team this year, (and I believe they are) they will use this opportunity to make that very clear.

I just assumed the obvious answer was @ Home in Dec..

Waving a white flag needs to be for the opponent and the drum should be Dallas going into the Play-Offs as Contenders instead of Pretenders!

Winning before Thanksgiving has certainly proven to be a huge misnomer for this Franchise over the last several seasons.

Honestly if we win they would just say that the Eagles o-line is hurting and how they really miss Brian Dawkins and Johnson. They will probably say this wasn't a good Eagles team to begin with. I seriously doubt they will give us our dues even if we beat Philly.

Who cares, if we win we will be in first place of the divsion, I could less what 'THEY' think of us. I agree with Hos. we need to run the ball and us the clock, and then make fithy have to go on long drives, I have seen the the iggle place twice this year and they thrive on big plays, but seem to struggle when they are force to put long drives together.

I see everyone is still all over the "Felix Jones will do ..." thing. What makes any of you think that Jason will let Felix go? He's ridden Marion all year, and thrown Choice in there some, and thrown Felix in there some, but Marion is Garrets boy.

I'm absolutely on the same page with you. I wish Garrett would let Felix's reins out, but I just don't see it happening. It's one of Garrett's failings as an OC, IMHO. He doesn't seem to get his best players in a position that best suits them. Look at Roy for example. Possession reciever... sends him on go routes instead of crossing or curls, or even jump balls.

We can scream and yell all we want, but I don't think Garrett reads this forum.

Sadly, I'm afraid you are right. This would be a great time to shake things up but I know more than likely the first series will involve MBIII getting stuffed behind the line. On the other hand, the Cowboys have had some good, long drives in the 1st quarter this year but failed to get points. Momentum will be so crucial there it would be great to open with Felix. :(

Believe it or not, Leonard Weaver is the guy who scares me the most on this offense. The Cowboys always have trouble with fullbacks, and this guy is actually a decent athlete. I don't think he'll get many carries, but as a release valve for McNabb he makes me nervous, especially in the red zone.

...looking back 14 months ago and Dallas won the shoot-out at Texas Stadium...i don't know that they want that type of game at the Linc...

...the key to this game is the player that's terrorized the Eagles the most...Jason Witten...he went 7-110 in the first meeting '08 and he killed them at the Linc in '07...they just can't cover this guy for whatever reason...

...Owens went 3-89 yds but the 1st of 2 TD catches was 72 yds of it so it was mostly Barber, Crayton, Austin and Bennett doing the business intermediate and underneath...all these guys remain in the offense...

...strange game that one...after opening 14-6 with Felix Jones TD return, they go to half down 30-24 on the heels of Romo's endzone turnover/td and then win the second half 17-7 after a botched handoff to Westbrook...fun to watch it again...not fun at the time it went down...

...even then you could see that Jackson would be trouble going forward...he went 6-110...he and Westbrook [6-45] were the main targets for McNabb, who was very elusive that night...Baskett only went 2-10...

...Felix only touched the ball 3 times for 10 yards apart from his return TD...Choice was'nt even on the radar...Barber really hurt them that night with 2 TD's [1 rec/ 1 rush] and 114 all-purpose yards...

...its obvious from the game film that the two guys you want to control are Jackson and Westbrook...these two guys alone accounted for over half of McNabb's passing yards...213 yds and 3 TD's [a fourth had Jackson not flipped the ball away before crossing the goal-line]...they are the nexus of the Eagles attack and Maclin just makes them more dangerous...

...the Cowboys can't wait until the second-half to find its legs on defense...like James said, they have to be ready to cook from jumpstreet...if they have to choose the poison then it's Celek/Maclin...

No, Parcells and Zimmer had trouble with fullbacks.

Is that Saints game of '06 still burning in your head?

After having observed the exact opposite of these specific reflections actually playing out in multiple consecutive seasons for your Dallas Cowboys, it's much closer to bordering on something else.
