I just assumed the obvious answer was @ Home in Dec..

Waving a white flag needs to be for the opponent and the drum should be Dallas going into the Play-Offs as Contenders instead of Pretenders!

Winning before Thanksgiving has certainly proven to be a huge misnomer for this Franchise over the last several seasons.
I am a spoiled rotten brat. I want to win before Thanksgiving, on Thanksgiving, and after Thanksgiving. I do not believe that is accomplished by doing anything other than giving all you have now, building momentum, and finishing strong. If we beat Philly in their house they are the team with doubts to overcome. Our advantage in December when they come to our house for the first time. It's really just that simple to me.

Our December fades have been the result of a lot of things. You can point toward injuries. You can point towards complacency. You can accuse of being a bad team. I don't think anyone can honestly say that winning earlier in the season meant losing in December.

That just doesn't make sense to me at all.

To me this is the the second must win game of this season for us. It is somewhat early to be calling it that but it really is a must win. It would mean worlds for us to steal a game AT filly right now. That puts us in a good opportunity to sweep the filly series with the last game at home. Filly actually has a very difficult schedule left for the rest of the season. They have to play San diego, skins, bears, giants, san fran, denver, atlanta, and us twice. With a win from us now I think we can pin them down in the division. They are the only team IMO that poses a threat to us in the nfc east. If we win this game I see us going 5-1 in the division, with a loss I see us at 3-3 or worse. If the cowboys are a play off team they will show it with a win this weekend.

That's what it meant, for whatever reason. Deserves' got nothing to do with it. I agree that Winning or Losing this week should leave no illusions about what is going to happen in Dec..

But I don't see why you think a win now means a loss in December. I feel the exact opposite is true.

Is it some kind of superstition? I don't get it.

Agree, especially about the Eagles' offensive line. I don't agree about emphasizing the run and the short pass, though. The Eagles will blitz you and you have to make them pay. Our receivers are going to see one-on-one coverage throughout the game; this has historically (against the Eagles) been an opportunity to make a big play and put up quick points.

So therefore, my quick keys to the game, following along with your thoughts:

- Score quick and take the fans out of the game
- Pressure McNabb early; he doesn't throw many picks but he takes sacks and is prone to fumbles
- Control field position by putting the ball in the end zone on kickoffs, and play stellar special teams (covering punts is KEY)

I expect a close game, in the 21-20 category.

lol ....

Many times a win early puts a grudge into the scenario with the player personel themselves. This "extra-motivation" has often come back to haunt this team in December.

Like the last time we played Filly, like the year before when we played the Giants and even a case could be made for losing to Seattle.

For that reason I like the Cowboys chances more going into the later part of the 2009' Season under the radar than flying high but don't get me wrong I'd luv to win this week @ Filthy...just don't think we need to get too confident or upset eitherway considering it's one game in a very long season.

Win or lose this match-up has the ability to establish superior mental, emotional as well as physical dominance for December and beyond which is all that really matters but winning in November still is what it is....a win in November.

I simply disagree.

A 1-1 record in the NFC East with a 1/2 game lead in the standings is so far superior to an 0-2 record and a 1/2 game deficit. It is not even close.

This game is bigger right now than the one in December can be unless we revert to old form and start collapsing in December. Then that game becomes bigger. Not until that happens though; and predicting it is going to happen is nothing more than 50-50 luck. I'll take 3-2 in December if we go 5-0 in November. That puts us at 12-4 and we should be in the driver's seat.

This game is bigger right now. That one only becomes bigger if we falter, and losing this one can be a cause of that faltering.

I have never agreed with you more. I dont care if a win Sunday automatically means we lose to the eagles the second game. Give me the win Sunday. It will be to tough not to have a divison win with 2 games against the Commanders (both throw out record games) and traveling to NY (probably a must win for them when we play) and then a must win for us in december against the eagles. Honestly I believe if we win or lose this game Sunday, the game against the eagles in December wont mean a thing.

Roy Williams has had some really good games against Philly. I hope he has a good game but I doubt it cause if their is a miscommunication between Roy and Romo, Asante Samuel could turn that miscommunication into 6 for the eagles. I expect to see a lot of Witten,Barber and Felix on offense. On defense I think we're coming for blood.

To me, they are the best in the divison and as they say to beat the best you have to be the best.

Preach it my Chosen brother. I don't disagree with a single point you made.

Nice post Hos, informative. I was totally thinking the same thing about running at Samuel. Saw him play twice a year against the Bills when he was still with New England. He like to float for the INT's. He's not interested in tackling. We need to run right, turn the corner, square the shoulders and the lay the wood. I would love to just rotate our three RB's and just keep hammering them beagles.

Jamming their WR's at the line is going to huge. G. Sens needs to keep Celek quiet like he did Tony in that ATL game. He can do it.

I would have to think that this could be kick/punt coverages biggest test so far this year, containing Jackson.

It's ridiculous to be even thinking about December now. Also the other games in November except this one.

You want to win every game as decisively as you can.

One at a time.

Our Offensive line is much bigger then the Eagles Defensive line, I would like to see Garrett get into a pound the ball state of mind which should happen unless we fall behind early.

If you believe last year is a provable pattern go to Vegas and bet all you have on your pattern.

Me, I'll stick with the real world. That superstitious junk isn't worth the powder to blow it to hell.

Does anyone realize that despite being 18th in the league in rushing attempts, we are 7th in rushing offense? You can look at it any way you want. If we ran more, we could be even more productive. Or even though we don't have a lot of attempts, we make the most of those attempts. I just thought I would throw that tidbit of info out there. Since so many people think we don't run the ball.
