Before going off on the Defense watch the Garrett presser

NO. We dominated this game. What is wrong with you people? We were up 17-3 and the Skins never had the ball with a chance to take the lead for the last 75% of the game. Seriously, what is wrong with you people?

I we were more efficient than the Skins today but I wouldn't necessarily say we were more dominant.

The only thing that ultimately "matters" for THIS game is the score and we won that important statistic.

But giving up 500 yards isn't a recipe for success. I am sure that isn't lost on this coaching staff even though you are personally willing to ignore it.

500 yards = no win.

I dont care if the other team gets 5000 yards in the game, if we are constantly ahead by 2 scores like today.

The problem with that line of thinking is that it is not likely sustainable long term. The only way you can survive teams getting that many yards week in and week out is to get turnovers.

It is not impossible, but it is unlikely that we could allow 500 yards every week and continue to win every game. In the playoffs you are one loss and done.

We need to start getting turnovers or shutting down offenses better, or preferably both. Doing that increases the likelihood of winning.

That also sounds great in theory but I highly doubt a team could give up 5000 yards and win a game so I would think that would be important to you.

Do you realize the error in your opinion? We are holding our opponents to low points until we are in prevent. If the halftime score had been 7-6, I PROMISE you the Skins don't score 26. The defense was playing shorthand with a two score lead the entire second half. Besides the one breakdown and the poor tackling by Scandrick, our defense played a winning strategy.

Giving up 505 yards and never trailing is something you don't see very often. Mo was our best defender and with him and Church out, they are going to struggle. Especially since no one can get to the QB. We n Ed those guys back and Marinelli needs to play more man to man. Every time they play mostly zone they get shredded. When they play man they actually look like a real defense.

Its just frustrating seeing people buy everything stated regardless if it really makes sense.

The win is great, but the lack of pressure, sacks, etc will be the undoing. One day the offense will have a rough game (a la Philly or NYG). It is what it is.

We roll Philly next meeting in their place, promise. The Giants are a problem in NY, but they will not beat us 3x, and 2x @ home. No way.

You could return every Kickoff for a TD and then allow dozens of long but quick drives that end in FGs and INTs returned for TDs

I just watched the postgame presser with Gruden and then Garrett on the television and cannot find a link yet to provide. Jason Garrett states that the defense played like he wanted other than the long ball to Desean Jackson in the 4th quarter and that this was not about the yards or sacks but winning the game. The boys had to shut down the run game and keep the passing game underneath was his point. This was a great win.

Reason is Cousins struggles or supposedly struggles so when you eliminate the big play Great post BTW--- There were lots people complaining about the amount of yardage we gave up --- my opinion who cares we held them where it counted on the scoreboard

This is the strategy and have been the strategy all year. Force teams to march down the field, tighten up in the red zone, and on offense, slowly move the ball down field and score.

It's the 2016 formula, and you can't argue with the results.

Not to nitpick, but it was the 2014 formula also. Your point is absolutely correct though.

Without the bomb to DJax and the last 'prevent' drive......the D was OK without it secondary

The Skins can put a lot of pressure on a secondary when Reed is active

Exactly, the Skins have a very good offense and we were playing without our best DB in Claiborne, a solid starter in Church and with our second best CB in Scandrick playing at half speed because of an injury. Most teams get destroyed in that situation.

You could argue that the somewhat soft schedule is a mitigating factor in this.

Yeah if you're Stephen A. Smith.

10 wins in a row is 10 wins in a row and opposing defenses are built to stop the pass and we've built a road grader.

If you want to be afraid for a defense then be afraid for our opponents defense. Don't worry about ours unless it's on the field with the game on the line.

Yes you could do that in the land of unicorns and rainbows ....and butterflies. But in the real world it eventually catches up with you and you eventually lose

Because eventually Beasley will drop the game sealing WR Screen for 1st down, or Dak will miss the throw and we will have to punt the ball back to the other team's offense with a minute left. The defense will have to win the game.

What evidence suggests that Beasley drops the tunnel screen? And if he had, we run twice and the Skins must go a minimum of 75 yards in about 60 seconds after we punt. It can happen, and if it did- then bashing is appropriate.

The Skins were never closer than arm's length today- given the lopsided officiating that kept the game close (non-call pi's, facemasks, no holds on 53 passing attempts?, terrible nullifying holding call on Zeke's TD)...

I was strangely at ease most of the evening even with Cousins throwing lasers all over the field. I felt we were going to win all night- honestly.

We never trailed in this game and people are acting like we were trapped in a shootout. This wasn't a shootout with leads changing hands a few times. 34 points were scored in the 4th quarter, but the Skins never got closer than 5 points to our lead.

Pitt put up 30 points on this defense just 2 weeks ago and I don't remember people melting down like it was the end of the world. This Commander passing offense is FAR better than what Big Ben had to work with. Right now the Skins have 1 of the top passing games in the league, and we managed to stall it enough for 3 quarters to keep them playing from behind.

I know because of the rivalry there's this attitude to always view the Skins as hot garbage, not a good team at all, etc. but this is ridiculous.

I'm not buying the schedule thing either....We beat Green Bay (in Green bay when they had the number 1 rush D and they have imploded since then), we beat Pittsburgh (in Pittsburgh with a hot Big Ben AND L. Bell), we beat AJ green and Cindy, we beat Philly when they were hot, we beatthe Ravens with the number 1 defense...We beat a very good Commanders team TWICE...That's 8 wins against very stiff competition, 8 of our 10 wins...GTFOH with the soft schedule crap
