In March 1994, after the Cowboys had won their second Super Bowl under Johnson, Jones angered Johnson when he told reporters that any coach could have led the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. They agreed to part ways on March 28, 1994, with Johnson getting a $2 million bonus.

The beginning of the end was when we started losing a lot of key role players to free agency and our great core players began to decline. That’s the beginning of the end for every great team.

Abundance of first round draft picks will get anybody Super Bowl almost lol
We don’t get top 10 draft picks because we’re 50-50 team and have been for the past 28 years average and nothing more. When you play average football, you draft average. When you play terrible football you draft high. And this salary cap game it’s all about the draft and your position in it. We have to fail for three or four seasons before this team will ever be on top again.

So was Jerry right anybody could take these Cowboys to another Super Bowl.
In a way yes, he was right. But it's also why the franchise is in the shape it's in now. They would have been better off not winning super bowl 30 because it created the Jerry we have now. How different would Jerry be now had he not won without Jimmy at the helm.

Fact is that teams have harvested a number of first rd picks; usually when someone is desperate for a QB
as far as I know, none of those teams that got those picks have won a SB

Yes.....Jerry gets credit for hiring a college coach that had his pulse on the draft and for signing the checks

Vikings get credit for being fools
Who wanted? Troy Aikman, who wanted Stepnowski who wanted Emmett?

People don’t want to admit that Jimmy, basically cheated and admitted it ,refused to play players, so he would lose the first season on purpose to get more draft picks. If that was today’s NFL he would’ve lost draft picks. He would’ve been penalized.

And then Barry Switzer took them for another ring . So was Jerry right anybody could take these Cowboys to another Super Bowl
All you have to do is watch the Troy Aikman football life with regards to the last Superbowl..... It was Troy Aikman that pulled that team over the finish line.....Even Michael Irvin and Moose Johnston acknowledge what Troy was going through, Switzer didn't think he should hold players accountable because in his words, they were men....I have a whole new respect for Troy Aikman after watching that Football life..
