What I was saying is that for a chance to get him we had to claim him, not wait for him to clear waivers. I think we would have had to accept his contract. I think he went to the jets because a former coach was there that he trusted to use him right. He has no ties to us.

Oh ok. Well then for clarity, yes, it would've been the remainder of his contract with the Texans. IIRC, it was a 3-year $15m deal, with $6m guaranteed. So I'd say it would've been alot more than $1m. Closer to $4m, at least to cover the guaranteed money.

And considering how he talked himself out of Houston, I imagine he would've been a disgruntled player here, as well, and dumped along the lines of Will Allen.

Dude is starting today for the Jets. If he is so banged up why is he starting? With all our safety issues I think we may regret not making a move for him. May have lost on the bidding but we didn't even look his way.

what would be give us for the money? are you still under the impression Dallas will go deep in teh playoffs? are you under certain delusions he might get us a better draft pick. Other than thinking he might be the difference between a win here or there, what would you hope to get from the trade that not only are we glad didnt happen, no one with a brain cell would pull the trigger on that trade because there is not one player whos going to catapualt us to the next level, so what do you expect, other than the fact, "EVERY PLAYER OUT THERE IS BETTER THAN ANY COWBOY PLAYERS SO LETS SIGN THEM ALL"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no trade, he was cut by the texans. Once he cleared waivers he could be signed to the vet minimum, and the Texans are picking up the check. The Jets got him this way.
