I would like to see how these other war rooms are conducted. From what I've seen, the owners might be in there. But they probably let the coaches, GM and scouts run it. I know, Jerry is the GM.

Will says, and he's really smart, "Mazi helps us NOW and in the future".
Jerry says, "A nose guy is a hell of a strategic pick for us, for our defense NOW." Nice call Jerry - nose guy.
And then of course Humpty McCarthy chimes in with his "absolutely" and additional ramblings, but who cares Double-J has already made the decision.

Do you think these guys believe Mazi is to be a key contributor this year? I'm thinking NOW (taking their comments at face value) would be this year, correct? Quite a few on this board have been less than enthused with his play thus far and the counter to that by others has been that he's learning how the Cowboys want him to play the position, he wasn't ask to do certain things at Michigan, give him time to develop, etc., etc., etc. Sounds like to opposite of NOW.

I'm probably reading into their expectations of Mazi at the time of the selection as this was more-than-likely a collection of blowhards over-hyping their guy.

He does fit nicely in their defense.

Nah, you didn't hear? Jerry doesn't make the calls anymore lol
Yep, ya beat me to it.
There's a small group that says that type thing, lol.
And then this goes viral and all I see are jellyfish yes men still throwing rose petals at the Godfather's feet.

The more that things change the more they stay the same.

There was a guy in here that said I didn't know what I was talking about when I said that the Chiefs wanted to trade up for Mazi.
Some just didnt like the pick. I didnt think they'd draft a defensive tackle round 1. Takes all kinds, they say.

I didn't hear one person disagree with Jerry. It was as if Jerry was making the final decision and that's the way it was going to be.
Maybe he was going by a board?

Dropping 5 spots, from #26 to #31, in exchange for a 3rd round pick is actually a very good trade for Dallas based on the draft value charts.

Obviously not worth it if you lose a great player, but Dallas does not do this enough. A 3rd round pick is potentially a very good player, on the cheap too. Two high picks vs. one is often the better choice, especially if you trust your scouting department.
Even if you don't trust them, because it gives you another crack at it.
Anyone who still think king Jerry isn't large and in charge is in denial. No one who is concerned with keeping their jobs would have the second round draft pick history of king Jerry. This place is a clown show people just accept it and move on.
Trevon Diggs was a 2nd round pick...
