Johnson did nothing outside of Brady. Landry did little outside of Staubach. You don't win championships just because you have a great QB. It's hard to win without them, but it's also hard to win with them, especially if you don't have a well-built and well-coached team.

I'd take Belichick in a minute over anyone else who's out there.

Just to be technical, Landry made it to multiple NFL title and NFC title games with three different QBs not named Staubach. I'd say that's better than what Belichick did without Brady.

No issue there. I just know some are verrrrry serious about the Brady V Belichick issue. Personally I just dont understand it.
 
In no way form or fashion will Beilichick come here with Witten added on. He will hire his own staff and draft his own players, otherwise kick rocks "to Jerry" unless of course Jerry pays him a little bit more pocket change like for example, 30 million a year.

I think the only possible play is the Raiders, for Bill. Also, I don't think Bill would screw up the UNC gig, without a firm NFL offer (not a request to interview, an OFFER mailed to his agent, and signed by the team, ready for his ink.)
 
Receiving a contract and not signing it while he continues to play every angle is peak Belichick. Ever the gamesman...

I read that he had signed a term sheet with UNC. Who knows what all that implies, but the university would be entitled to some money if he backed out on them. Maybe the full $10M, maybe not, but definitely not zero. Most likely, UNC and Belichick's new owner would reach a settlement on a number they could both live with.

True. Those who said he did nothing without Brady conveniently leave that out. Now, you generally need a better QB than Cassel to win championships, and Brady was clearly the piece that put New England over the top. But Brady without Belichick is Archie Manning or maybe Dan Marino at best. Yes, I know he also got a title in Tampa, but that was another excellent situation. Brady's skills were in decline but still good enough with an elite defense, much like Peyton in Denver.
