The central question is, do you believe they will do that tonight?

Jerry: Wade, the team once again performed below expectations. Can you give me one good reason why I should bring you back for a fourth year?
Wade: Believe.
Jerry: Come again?
Wade: Believe.
Jerry: Believe what?
Wade: Believe.
Jerry: Are you ********?
Wade: Believe.
Jerry: Fine. Welcome back.
CowboyMcCoy;3155214 said:Fallacy. That's not the only way they can win. They can win if they play average and the Saints play well under the level they've been playing. It's sort of a quasi-false dichotomy, which I don't think your ego will get in the way of understanding that there is not "only" one way to win.
CowboyMcCoy;3155165 said:Do you see the paradox you're naively wondering around in yet?
You're wondering around in a paradox and you don't even know it.
I went to a top 20 school in Austin. But that has nothing to do with pointing out your paradoxical reasoning.

We come from the same schools, my friend. And I respect you and your postings, so don't take my argument the wrong way. I even tried viewing your argument in the spirit of the Jain philosophers, being that there might be a grain of truth to that.
CowboyMcCoy;3155226 said:O, so original. Can you allude the issue at hand any more by disguising a real argument in the form of hypothetical dialogue?

1. Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustified.
2. Making or marked by an extravagant outward show; ostentatious.
BTW, I went to a top 20 school myself, so excuse me for not being knocked on my *** by this self-important drivel.

I also said it had nothing to do with the argument at hand, but you asked. I answered. Scipio and I went to both the same high school and university, so that's what I was referring to. We've had discussions about certain topics that are popular amongst the UT academic curriculum.
To be honest, I'm not that impressed being from a top 20 school because there are plenty of dimwits that have attended them. Look no further than this thread.
By the way, you ad hominem attack on me wasn't unnoticed nor unexpected. Regardless of my educational background, I simply put forth an argument you couldn't intellectually handle and a bet your ego wouldn't let you take.
Oxymoron.
