It's football. People sometimes get hurt in football.

Looking forward to seeing this guy play when he's able to. I think he might be a pretty good rotational player for us.

Not ready to give up on Gardner yet because we need all the help we can get on the DL... But its hard to witness Gardner's legendary power and abilities prowling the sidelines.

Gardner was good on Saturdays I can admit but the NFL is another machine

Miles Austin had terrible hamstring problems here, but it seems that is has not had any problems in Cleveland so far. Newman always seemed to struggle with hamstring and groin injuries, but has not had those struggles since he moved to Cincy. Maybe our training methods should be further explored.

no, he's had hamstring problems in Cleveland too...

Give Austin time.

T.Newman HAS had injury issues at Cincy.

Don't know if they were Hammy issues but he has missed games and practices for injuries since he has been at cincy...multiple times IIRC.

I was all for getting Gardner out of the draft but I am SOOOOOO tired of injured players on this team... He needs to be let go... along with Matt Johnson and Mo Claiborne. Players that are injured all the time just take up rosters spots that are just too valuable to waste on people who cant/won't contribute.

He is nothing like Johnson or Claiborne, who have had multiple camps with injury issues.

Seems like he played in the majority of his college games up to the injury last year. Is he still recovering from his pec/shoulder problem from last year or is this something new?

Its his shoulder. He should be be back soon. Ths isnt a new injury. It has to do with what he's beem rehabbing

If this team let go of every player that has had more than one or two injuries in his time with Dallas, most, if not all, of them would be shown the door. No team can afford to be prone to making knee-jerk decisions based upon their likes, dislikes or what they're SOOOOOO tired of. No team nor its fans wants players that are injured more than they'd like them to be. Unfortunately, injuries are going to happen, no matter what teams do to prevent it. It's a part of the game that nobody wants but just can't be controlled.

The problem is, he's a 7th round pick on a D-line full of guys fighting for roster spots. Not everyone is gonna make the team, and Gardner isn't exactly Aaron Donald. It's not the same situation as Johnson and Claiborne. With Johnson, we spent a relatively high pick for a safety when we had absolutely no young safeties on the roster. We now do have lots of young potential at safety so Johnson becomes expendable. And with Claiborne, we sold the farm for this one guy, so you know we're gonna give him every chance possible.

And that tweet doesnt say Gardner had a set back, it says that the return date appeared to be set back. Which is obvious because it was supposed to be 2 days before. Reading comprehension is your best friend.

Attention. The player has not had a set back. His return date has been set back. Apparently because he's right on schedule.

Between this and the Lawrence carted off thing its pretty obvious the media has an axe to grind.

Fact alert!

Newman missed 11 games in 9 seasons here. He's already missed 4 in 2 years with the Bengals.

Can we get clarification in the thread title?

Newman missed considerable camp time as well. Always had a groin issue, banged his head on the trunk door of his SUV, something.
