Another prediction I made last spring that came true.

The harsh reality is he should have retired after last season rather than hang on one more year.

The good news is the Stealers don't have their QB of the future currently on their roster. :D

Parcells probably kept his eyes closed during Marino's rookie year then.. Ben was on training wheels back then.. They passed for more than 200 yards FOUR TIMES that season. The offense was handoff, handoff, handoff and if that failed handoff some more. They rushed for 2500 yards and had the #1 defense in both scoring and yards. I hate it when people try to make more of one player than he was .. Ruthlessraper was a good rookie QB.. but if Parcells said that about him, then um givin him side eye.
wasnt that Bettis the bus big year dude dragged them to sb for sure.

here are his stats from his super bowl “winning” performance against Seattle.

9/21
123 yards
0 TD’s
2 INT’a
QBR 22.6

Pick out Dak's BEST season ever and then show me the Lombardi that came with it.

People like to point to one game as their "Proof." If they didnt have Ben, they never get to that SB for him to have those below avg numbers. You got to get there in order to have any chance.

Same with Bucs and their "Great," defense last year. People want to point to that and say the defense won the title and not Brady... except for 11 straight years before Brady arrived... Zero titles... no, ZERO PLAYOFF APPEARANCES with that great defense. Brady arrives, and all of the sudden that defense wins championships..... yea, sure.

Bottom line is with Ben, they were in the mix damn near every year. Now as Ben is done, the past 3 years what have they done? 2 seasons no playoffs, one season out in first playoff game.

here’s the problem. Ben’s HOF supporters immediately point to his two SB wins as proof he belongs. He was not good in those games. If you want to say he deserves it based on his entire career, that’s different.

Should we remove one of Aikman's Super Bowl wins then?

I never understand comments like this. Big Ben may have done as you suggest, but you have ZERO FACTS to back that claim up. This is why trials exist and only certain things are allowed into evidence. Its also why we try to keep people with any knowledge of a case off of a jury.

Tell that to the 90% of the population that claim that "O.J. did it.". I bet you're one of them.

the SB is still like any one game from the regular season. Go pick out every HOF qb and you can pick out some real stinker games. Bottom line is because of Ben, that team has been in the upper echelon of AFC teams for the better part of 15 years. Hes about to be gone, and already in 2 of the past 3 years the Steelers have been below avg. They are about to be below avg for the near future until they land another stud QB.... even though the great Tomlin will still be there.

He was pretty much done about 3 or 4 years ago. Steelers are going to have to find a QB now and that's going to be tough considering where they draft. Wonder if the Texans QB (Watson) will be traded.

You should never try to say things about people you dont know. I have a B.A. in criminal justice and went to McGeorge School of Law... though I left due to family. I look at many, many things through a legal lens. I am not like 90% of the population. The difference though with OJ, much of the country watched the damn trial so they did get to hear all the facts. That 90% of the population says justice was or wasnt served based upon the outcome of a trial and whether they agree or disagree with the outcome. I am not one of those people.

Unlike Ben who was never charged , never had a trial, and thus you have only speculation.

its time. Now lets sit and watch their "Great," coach all of the sudden suck. The gravy train has reached its end for Tomlin. BY the way, I like Tomlin, a lot, but hes about to be like everybody else that doesnt have a HOF qb running the offense.

Unless/until another one joins his team. Russell Wilson or Aaron Rogers may be in play for them. I wouldn't put it past the hated Steelers.

Not when it mattered.

You ever see Bradshaw play, he wasn't remotely close to Big Ben, Bradshaw on a totallly lower level. the guy had 212 TD but 210 INT's, his comp % sucked his passer rating sucked. He was just a guy who got lucky to play for a great team. Think.....Jim McMahan 1985.

I can't believe y'all are slurping this fat rapist. I can't stand Pittsburgh and I hate this sorry excuse for a person more than that. He should have been locked up long ago, but they let him slide and EVERYONE forgot all about it. ***.

There is a reason you never seen Ben used as a marketing tool for the NFL, all those years. A flagship franchise. Multiple Superbowls. He should have been promoted like Brady, Rodgers, Brees or even Wilson. He wasn't because the NFL knows the truth. And didn't care. what was it? 6 games he got? Disgusting.

I was at the 2016 game at Heinz field. Dude was old then. I never felt like the game was over till the clock said 0:00. What a game
The Steelers lost that game because they went for 2 points early on and then failed chasing points thereafter.

Lucky 4 times. The guy got it done when it mattered most. Regular season average or not.

That makes me feel old. I swear it feels like yesterday he was a rookie playing against us. Still remember his first game. I thought that was going to be a W with a rookie QB but you could just tell he was going to be a star. What I remember the most was his pocket presence. For a rookie, he just had that 6th sense and knew when and where to place the ball no matter how much our D tried to take advantage of a rookie. I believe Zimm was our D-Coordinator that year, so no slouch either.
