the way dc puts it, would you rather have jones, or ellis?

at this point, jones.

Jones in a heartbeat, Ellis is my least favorite Cowboy player, so I have to admit I am biased. Generally speaking though I choose an offensive lineman over a linebacker anyday.

Too many injuries.

There's usually a very good reason when a team cuts a starting LT who's under 30.

Got to be. He isn't even that expensive.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in..why not? Brewster isn't a LT and if Flo gets hurt again then we have ZERO depth on a VERY important position.

Some kind of odd stuff showed up about Levi Jones last year. I would investigate further before any move. This is the Bengals cutting someone who would seem to be useful. I'd be suspicious.

I say we draft a LT and not buy any more OL than we have to. Let's try some home grown rather than buying at the market.

Great idea! Oops, the draft has past already though. Someone forgot to send the memo to JJones. Maybe next year I guess...

I hate to tell people the Cowboys like Doug Free and probably won't consider this at all.

I hope they like him so much that he gets a shot to compete with Flo for the starting job.

And I know Flo is pretty good. But just because he doesn't get credited with allowing a lot of sacks doesn't mean that he's a stone wall agains the speed rushers in the NFC East.

Romo does a lot to help Flo by being a magician in the pocket sometimes.

One of my biggest fears with a guy like Flo, over thirty and having had a major knee injury, is that one year will come along and he goes from being average to good to just horrible all of a sudden.

If Free was so good why was he not put in for Flo when Flo could not lift his arm and had a infected hand so he could not punch?

Theyre gonna trust a rookie on the left side?

Are you surprised? If it wasn't for Al Davis and Matt Millen, the Bengals would get the most attention for being the worst franchise.

They said they wanted to re-sign Housh, but then franchise their kicker, and let Housh sign elsewhere. They should have franchised Housh, and just sign Graham to a huge kicker contract.

I asked the same thing last season.

And I think it comes down to Wade asking Flo if he's good to go and Flo saying yes.

That's fine with me for one half, or maybe one game.

But when you as the coach watch a guy not play up to his ability because of injury and you leave him out there then you are making a mistake.

And leave yourself open for being questioned about it later.

I guess the rest of us are on a need not to know basis.

People I really want Levi Jones, but from the look of the way the draft went it goes to show the Cowboys don't have no money. Anytime your first pick is a 3rd rounder it says alot. Cowboys actually had a opportunity to use some of them draft picks and save more money and get Manuluga or Delmas.

To make a long story short, the Cowboys main concentration is to get DeMarcus Ware signed.

This is really good to hear. I figured they liked either Free or McQuistan the way we handled the OL in the offseason. It's awesome news if we think we've had our next LT on the roster and getting stronger for a few years before he steps in.

The lack of reporting on Free has been driving me nuts. We drafted the guy, he was supposedly a steal, we were thrilled with his footwork in camp and he just needed to get stronger and then....nothing.

Everybody concludes because we hear nothing that he's no good, and they start out gnashing teeth and eating their own limbs.

So, any morsel about how we really feel about the player is gold. I wish the local press would run updates on players like this instead of doing mindless thumbnails of players we've drafted whose bios have been all over the internet for a full six months leading up to the draft.

"not ready" comes to mind

I think Free's main issue was he needed to get stronger. With another offseason in the workout program, he will likely be.
