Could some be confusing “ villain” that it has to be the single, lead, head-figure bad guy, and a film cannot have more than one villain?

- Such as Venom and Sandman in Spiderman 3 with two villains.
- Or original Xmen with multiple villains ( magneto, mystique, toad and sabretooth) or Xmen Last Stand with Dark Phoenix and Magneto ?
- Or Nitti ( portrayed by actor Bill Drago – RIP) in Untouchables was a hired assassin (who knocked off Sean Connery) and worked for Al Capone, but wasn’t he still considered a villain in the film ?

Have you seen Red River or She wore a Yellow Ribbon? He's very gritty and nasty in those.
Yep, he was a bad guy in most of his work up until "For a Few Dollars More" and I don't think he liked himself and told Sergio Leone to make even a badder *** in G, B &U.

It's just a good movie. Not to mention it had a lot of stars and some before they were stars. (hence why it's a spaghetti western)

The movie reminds me of a good poker game. It's a spaghetti western, so you can't expect it to be a polished Hollywood film, yet it was still pretty good. Almost like a western comic book made into a movie.

yeh that's a good description of Sam Raimi version of the Quick and the Dead,..

All star cast, intriguing characters and typical director Sam Raimi campiness added. Plus this seemed like a different way of
casting showdown gun fights, and how many chances do we see of the main star of a Western film being a female.
And Raimi knew how to make Gene Hackman look like one of the more merciless, ruthless dark heart villains ever ..!

Just my opinion and opinions vary just like beliefs.

To be a villain requires a higher range of thinking. An animal could never be a villain because he doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. So the shark in Jaws is not a villain. Just like the dog in Cujo, the shark in Jaws is just an antagonist.
And let's not forget Bruce the Shark in Jaws.

when I had to think about the best, most memorable Villains in movie history, there's a huge
list of really good, really vicious ones,.. but if I had to narrow it down to just 10 ?
here's what came up with.

1 Darth Vader - Star Wars
2 Joker - Dark Knight (ledger)
3 Thanos
4 Det. Alonzo Harris - Training Day (denzel)
5 Bill 'the Butcher ' Cutting - Gangs of New York
6 Anton Chigurth - No Country for Old Men
7 Hans Landa - Inglorious Baastards
8 Nicky Santoro - Casino (pesci)
9 Ordell Robbie - Jackie Brown
10 Norman Stansfield - Leon the Professional (oldman)

Thanos? lol. He was beyond boring as a character. I myself would put 1983 "Scarface" Tony Montana (Al Pacino) above all on this list.
