A doctor's "option" is irrelevant. My dog breaks his leg, putting it to "Sleep" is not an option. Period.

And I don't give a rat's a** about your opinion regarding me joining the army. You can stick your opinion right up your a**.

You don't have to agree with my view/feelings towards my animals, but I'll be damned if some POS is gonna criticize me for my views. My views have absolutely NO EFFECT on your life so I don't understand why you're getting all pissy about it.

The world isn't black & white, Nancy. Maybe it's about time you learn that.

And comparing my child's death to that of my dog's child is nowhere remotely the same. I'm not married to my dog, Genius. It's wouldn't be MY kid dying, it's my dog's kid.

Again, I don't care if you feel the same way about your animals that I do about mine, but don't go criticizing me about it. I'm not criticizing you and your views. Try a little respect.

Here's a couple more for ya'...............

Your "dog-child" gets leukemia. You know, your "son-dog" or your "daughter-dog". How many of you "dog-child's" family members come around to support their "relative" in their time of need? How many of your "dog-kid's" relatives come to the hospital to visit? The Funeral?

Your "dog-part-of-the-FAMILY" goes missing. Runs away or gets abducted. Maybe hit be a car and left to die, but nobody's seen the "child" for days. What do you do? Rarely, people put some little ad in the paper about the missing part of the "family". Usually, just a few telephone polls with fliers stapled to it. Showing the "child" and when the "family member" went missing. After a few rainy days, your "childs" picture on the cheap computer print-out is barely legible and becomes an eye-sore. You just go get another "dog-kid" shortly thereafter.

That's a wee-bit different scenario than what would happen if your ACTUAL CHILD GOES MISSING!!!

Please.......................do you REALLY want to go on and on and on with such an assinine and moronic discussion?

Love your dog. Treat him well. Spoil him rotten as I do. But please, don't embarrass yourself with calling some pet "my kid". It has "idiot" written all over it.......................

Again, why do my opinions/views bother you so much?

My dogs are my kids. Don't like it? Tough.

Not being tolerant of other's personal views towards their dogs/cats has MORON written all over it.

Your little tactic of calling those who've got you figured out "Nancy" ain't gonna' work in the Army or if your in a conflict. So I'd adjust your game a little if I were you....................

Also, the last bastion of argument, when your expired of any reason, is to call other names (like "waterhead"), so I've got you figured out there too. The only difference is, is that you actually being a "waterhead" is true, so it's applicable to the conversation...............

Listen. Go join the Army. The dog won't know the difference after about a week that it's with another owner. All the dog cares about is where his next eats are coming from, a place to sleep, and some schlep petting it every now and then............you'll soon be forgotten by your "family-child-dog" as soon as the next guy ponies up with the grub. That's what dogs do.

When you get back, (and I hope you do come back safe and sound and healthy), the dog-family-child you so adore will either have forgotten about you totally, or be long ago dead. And nobody's life will be altered one iota over "the dog".

Aloha, good health, and thank you for defending our country. Have a kid or two also. Then, maybe, you'll get what I'm trying to educate you about......

P.S. I'm not interested in "tolerance" and "respecting your opinions". I'm interested in sanity.

No, anyone who blows a gasket on a message board because someone else has a different view or belief from them, THAT person is a moron.

Yeah, well, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, and Adolf Hitler had "a different point of view" and a "different belief from me" too. Someone has to "blow a gasket" over total idiocy every now and again. Might as well be me..........................

I say this because, not comparing anything said here to those guys, but "understanding" and "tolerance" and "opinions" are not the be-all and end-all. Some "opinions" don't get to be "respected" and "tolerated". Again.............ANYONE who calls a pet their "Children" or "Family"..........................total idiot.

The fact that you bring up Bundy, Manson and Hitler on a message board in a post about dog food says all we need to know about your state of mind.

FYI, Manson and Hitler also thought the same way you do. IE, those that didn't believe EXACTLY as they did were not tolarated.

Sounds like someone is on their period. Nobody was comparing the importance of an animal and a child until you did.

I can't believe someone actually compared the medical procedures and legal ramifications of a dog and a human being.:lmao:

Of course doctors can do more on humans than animals because i don't know......THEY'RE HUMAN!! :lmao:

Of course the legal system can do more on humans than animals because I don't know......THEY'RE HUMAN!!:lmao:

Who said animals were more important than kids? Rack said he values his animals LIKE a child. He didn't say MORE than a child.

Rack appears to not have any kids so of course he values his animals more because he doesn't have kids. How can you put a value on something you don't have?

I'm sure if given the choice to save his son/daughter or his dog, he'd choose his child. At least I hope so.

Science Diet is the best brand of dog food you can give your dog (By FAR) and don't EVER give your dog canned food, unless you enjoy paying 100's of dollars on your dogs' dental bills.

Canned dog food is basically all I have ever given my dog. 2 cans a day. And NEVER had one dental problem. In fact, I just got a new vet last year and he was absolutely floored by the quality of teeth my dog had for a 10 year old, let alone any point of which dog food I fed him.

And as far as dog food goes, only Ol-Roy- Walmarts Brand. Won't give my dogs any thing else. 25 years of healthy dogs feeding them nothing else. 1 can in the morning, 1 can in the evening and all the dry ol-roy dog food he wants throughout the day (which usually equals 1 scoop per day- and also Ol-Roy Brand). Like I said, he's 10 and a practical "picture of health", all while NOT over spending on dog food either.

As long as they get something crunchy to eat, their teeth are going to be alright. It's when you start feeding them table scraps or other stuff which can get stuck in their teeth. If you do that though, just give them a treat afterwards. That's what they're for really, dental hygiene.

As far as Ol-Roy Dog Food goes though, it's basically Pedigree without the price. I also have always liked the fact that Sam Walton, himself, had this food specifically designed for his own dog, Ol' Roy.

Then comparison-wise, I've never found anything that seemed that much better, nor which any my dogs would ever eat. And ever since the new "stew-style" foods have come out, my current dog wouldn't touch anything else. He gets a healthy variety, daily. Virtually able to go almost an entire week without ever eating the same thing twice. Even been feeding him it so long he practically knows each flavor by name.

Speaking of which, look at the time, I gotta go feed him. And looking like "Mixed Grill" for him tonight..

My dog isn't "my kid". He is a part of my family though. And just as important as myself in this thing I call a family. To me he's more like a "brother" or a "best-friend" though, not a "kid". He's my bud and I just want to be as good a friend to him as he's always been to me.
