Best Jaydon Blue Comp

Please of the love of all that is holy do not compare these spare backs to Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt was better on every level of football and 10x as durable and proven.

Emmitt weighed 209 because he was trying to lose weight to run fast. He played at 220. He also had insane vision and patience and ball skills and pass blocking.
This is false. Emmitt was only 199 as a rookie. He built his weight up through the years. The only time he would have been 220 was in his last ones.

Emmitt has given a hundred interviews on this very topic.

He went to the combine and did basic testing but did not run. He hated it in Indy. He hates the cold.
He had gained weight up to 220 that off-season because of awards season but liked that weight.

He came home and lost weight to run as fast as possible at the Florida pro day. He was down to 209 at his pro day which again is available data online.

Dallas rookie cards often list him at 199 but it is also known Emmitt was the rare guy who played heavier than then he weighed in. He played with a lot of water weight intentionally. Weighing up to 220 at game time even that rookie season. And he would lose a lot of weight as the game wore on. It made him faster in the 4th quarter in his mind.

He does look heavy enough to carry a load more than most believe. Some fans talk as if he is a stick figure.
He might be able to but that doesn't mean you do that to him they tried that with Tony Pollard gave $11 million in a franchise tag and made him the three down back he is not a good three down back yes he's solid but he wasn't even better than Rico that's what they turned Tony Pollard into now this league decided Tony Pollard was a regular running back and they wore him down and it wasn't because of the injury....

We need to use blue smartly maybe at first he gets 30% of the snaps and by mid season if he's doing well you can up that to 40 and maybe by the year end if he's really settled in you can give him 50 per cent but this man should not be a full time three down running back he should not be running in the A or B gap over and over and over this is the very thing that ruined Tony Pollard from doing what he does best yes he can steadily get you around 1000 yards but he lost a lot of his big playability because of it...

They need to be smart about this and let's also hope that he doesn't continue having fumbling problems in the NFL because that'll get him on the bench really fast....

So I'm hoping he does some really hard work this off season with whatever group of coaches he can work with to try to keep him from fumbling to football it worked with Tiki Barber we even seen Ezekiel Elliott in 2020 have a fumbling problem mostly because of the offensive line of him trying to do too much it was a bad year and sometimes guys try too hard but yes you can fix it but that's the only thing that worries me about him as you up his workload can he hold on to the football...

I would never want blue used as an every down back. But I'd definitely like to see him used enough to contribute on offense. This idea by some fellow fans that blue is no more than a 3rd string back behind Williams, sanders, and that blue will probably be good for only 3-5 touches a game is insane.

The FO likes blue and they have plans for him so those fans opinion mean little in a way. My hope is that the coaches just dont burn blue out, but give him enough to contribute which I believe they will.

He wasn't 209 until a few years into his career. Look at his picture I posted. That is from his press conference after being drafted. That is a 200 pound guy, not 209 and sure not 220.

Emmittt was 5-9, 209 when he came into the NFL. And slower. Same thing was said, small, slower, how will he do. Though he was a consensus 1st round pick.
Blue was a lower round pick, but mainly because he was not the starter as a possible reason for that.
a TON of smaller guys came out of college to fail in the NFL. But congrats for picking Emmitt to compare. Good stuff.

not even the "starter" of his own team? As a tOSU fan...I get rb by committee. But blue is neither Judkins nor Henderson.

What's gonna matter more than whos running is who and how we block.

At best, I see Blue as a high end 3rd down receiving RB a la Ronnie Harmon. I don't see Blue as a RB1 due to lack of physicality. How will Blue respond when he gets hit in the mouth during TC or preseason? Does he have the mentality to tighten his chinstrap and run hard again or is he looking to run out to the slot?

I'm not into hyping this young man up into something he's not because most times what you get in college is how he's best used in the league. So, again, I'm looking for Blue to be the next Ronnie Harmon, I belive that would a great career for him.

Harmon was 5'11 200 with 4.3 speed, same as Blue, and I see many similarities making Harmon the best comp for Blue.

Longer video showing how to use Blue:

Shorter and to the point video:

He’s Darius Jackson until he proves otherwise.

against ...WHO? Looks like high school teams.
Posters find someone they like. Then spit out thread after thread about them until they do nothing then they backtrack and say well he was a 5th rounder what did you expect.

I did it with a few players back in the day I was totally wrong about.

Difference is I realized and took ownership.

I just watched the highlights of the OSU and Texas bowl game. Blue had their only 2 TD’s. Both on passes, where he made players miss tackle on one, and ran by the defenders on the other.

I will always love the Jack Sawyer. Strip fumble, TD in that game.
Go Buckeyes. I grew up 80 miles west of Columbus.

I really wanted Dallas to draft Henderson, or Judkins.

I'll have to rewatch that one! The Sawyer Strip 6 was a thing of beauty!

Did I just coin Strip 6?

I Was born and raised in Defiance not too far from you, spent a lot of time in Toledo as well. BGSU used to run every Buckeye game later that night...no commercials!

Pullin for Blue. We desperately need a sound round game.

Nobody knows for sure what this kid will be, but his draft slot indicates that nobody thinks he is going to be very good. Thats just the cold hard truth. These comparisons with great running backs of the past are nauseating.

Nothing against Blue but I'm hoping Javonte can return to form. He was the real deal before injury. Blue is a scat back without 3 down abilities.
Dude, if Dallas hits on any of the FAs they brought in (Sanders or Williams) it would be HUGE for this years RB room given that the Oline SHOULD be upgraded with the talent and coaching thats been added this off season.

Its a gamble but i like what ive seen thus far. This has been the best off season ive seen in years.
