Best movie I half seen

I watch Operation Petticoat everytime I see it on...also like Father Goose.

OK, Brain, you are soch a kidder. I like the line in Father Goose where he catch a fish and tells the leading lady that the fish is a female.
"How do you no," ax the fetching young lady.
And Father Goose respon: "Because its mouth is open."
Well, I laffed until the soda run out of my nose it was so funny and true.

That scene always cracks me up.

That and the look the girls are giving him after he turns the boat over trying to get in.

You won't be sorry. Hey, if you half an afinity for technology, Das Boot shows the dawn of radar/sonar teknology. The British developed it and as soon as sonar started working, the German sub fleet was toast. Soddenly the German subs were the hunted. And the opening credits tell us that 40,000 German submariners went to war at sea and only one quarter of those returned home.
donut delay! go to blockbuster and get it. Oh, wait, blockbuster sleeps with the fish. Well, get it at Amazon:)

I must confess, these are two of my all time favorites. Just funny as all get out.

Operation Petticoat:

Lt. Cmdr. Matt T. Sherman: Where is Lt. Holden?

Lt. Watson
: When the air raid started they took off. All he said was "in confusion there is profit."

Father Goose:

[catching a fish barehanded. A fish swims toward them]

Walter Eckland: [In a hushed voice] Hey, here she comes again.

Catherine Freneau: How do you know it's a "she"?

Walter Eckland: Her mouth is open, now be quiet.

I will literally stop whatever it is I am doing, anytime day or night, to watch either one of those movies. I love both of those films.

Oh, i half forgotten another greaT movie. Great with a capital T!

"Full Metal Jacket" is great. It is anti war like M*A*S*H but with no pretention and no preaching.
It half irony and stuff.
Dang. "FMJ" might be better than Das Boot, but let me think about it over a bowl of ramen and a sandwich of cold chicken.

Damn, son!
ok you half the correct quot. it half been a long time since I saw it and my mammory fade.

I think a great line in Operation Petticoat is what the Chief of the Boat say when The Blonde steps on board

"If you want to know what you are fighting for, THERE is your answer."

Both of those movies are filled with great lines. That's why I love them so much. Just really good, really funny movies. The way they used to do it before you substituted Special Effects and Sexual Content for good writing and acting. JMO

Yeah Enemy at the Gates is overlooked often. I thought it was a pretty good movie, but it's hard to look at Ed Harris and say "yeah, that's what a **** looks like".

If you want to see a better movie re Stalingrad, see the German movie "Stalingrad". It is vastly superior to Enemy at the Gates.

oh but if Canadiens Lorne Greene, Allan Thicke, Justin Beiber or Lorne Michaels was in it the acting be great, huh?

I think the problem was in the Longest Day was that everyone was very aware they were recreating History and were very self concious about that. From what I have heard the Director was always emphasizing that and it might have had a big effect on the acting.

You know, it's not a masterpiece or anything like that. Heck, lots of people probably don't even really give it a second thought but Black Hawk Down, when it comes on I always seem to sit and watch it.

OK, mister, i happen to half bought the soundtrack. The persian/horn of africa music is great! As I recall the movie was great too!

"Das Boot"

Man it half everything: submarines, danger, sinking ships.

And it is shot from the point of view that these German submariners are regular guys.
And they get many occasions to dis Hitler.
At one point, as they are sinking allied ships I am going: "Yeah!" Then I catch myself and feel guilty. But that is great filmmaking when you actually bond with the characters.

I highly recommend thisl. Das boot mean The Boat, by the way.

Holla

If you've half seen it why not watch it all the way through? Still think Pittman is funnier...

Agree ABQ, Black Hawk Down is a very underrated flick (Sizemore was a really cool general/great action pacing). "Body of Lies" and "Traitor" would be my more recent espionage/war favorites. Cheadle really thrived in that role and was a very underrated flick as well. Crowe is great as a Kissinger-crafty type of character.
