Or Green Bay, two times (Favre to Aaron, Aaron to Love).Tell that to Denver….
They don't have to cut Dak and draft a franchise QB. They <can> draft a QB in the 1st round and develop him for a year or two behind Dak (ala the Green Bay method).Or Green Bay, two times (Favre to Aaron, Aaron to Love).
Or SF (Garappalo to Purdy)
The good ones know when to cut ties and do it fast.
It's sort of paradoxical -- some of you fans have morphed into the owner's mindset. "Oh, we can cut Dak..." Yes you can. You can also trade the likes of Micah and Lamb for good draft capital. Does that mean you're punting 2024? Well, yeah! But you've already hit your ceiling with this crew, so why not 1988-89 this for 1992-95?
That's fair. You could be right-- perhaps evenly you're likely right. I might be wishing at this point.Disagree on the fan enthusiasm not being there….next September everyone will be right back in front of the tv, right online buying stuff and ready for the “hope” all over again. It’s the nature of the beast
This franchise will never do that. Never. They will instead go find some non-threatening person from the 6th round and ride with Lance so that Dak does not feel threatened. This is the way of the Country Club. They don't have to cut Dak and draft a franchise QB. They <can> draft a QB in the 1st round and develop him for a year or two behind Dak (ala the Green Bay method).
Dak sucked the defense sucked - both of these were true yesterday.remember he doesn't play defense
Oh, I agree 100%........no excuses for either. For Dak, we have the same movie 3 times in the playoff.......but with a $59M cap hit hanging over your head, what do you do?Dak sucked the defense sucked - both of these were true yesterday.
Love was in the zone. Most of his big plays were thrown flat-footed or falling back and were spot on. The Dallas got decent pressure early on but to no avail.Lost in the sheer disgust in the Dallas crapshow is how impressive Jordan Love looks. The dude looks like a young Aaron Rodgers... It's just sickening how GB somehow continues to pull this off at the QB position.
Tank for Tua is what we do.....let his contract ride out and force him to waive his no trade clause. Are we really really really really sure Trey is any worse?Oh, I agree 100%........no excuses for either. If he could elevate the team's play, I would say pay him. He's just not a difference maker. Too much money to be a regular season QB.Jerry is not releasing dak. Won’t happen - only thing if dak says wants to go some place else. Do not make him highest paid qb. That’s crazy. He needs take team friendly extension. He’s made enough and not won when matters.
And the eagles too. They dumped Wentz and were back in a Super Bowl two years later.Or Green Bay, two times (Favre to Aaron, Aaron to Love).

Did I'm trying to read all of that but you can't release that that's where I'm stopping to read you cannot eat that kind of cap hit and expect to rebuild this team we need to keep Prescott one more season and it's still a big cap hit in 2025 but we need to have him in 2024 fire the entire coaching staff start over at least have a good quarterback if you are blaming the quarterback for what happened with that offense when the defense was absolutely horrible NBA been horrible in almost every big game this year if you're not seeing that this was more about the defense putting pressure on the offense to make them feel like they had to break off their game plan and score on every damn play every damn series needed to be ending seven are we gonna lose the game you're seeing this in our backwards sword away....We have a very good opportunity to find a franchise QB. Will we do it? Probably not.
What we should do:
Release Dak. Take advantage of a strong QB class and draft the best of who’s remaining (likely one of Bo Nix, Michael Penix, JJ McCarthy will still be available when we pick).
We’d go into the season with Trey Lance and a high-potential rookie competing for the starting job. Trey Lance would have his opportunity to prove why he was drafted #3 overall.
If we have a terrible season, we’d go into 2025 with a top pick where we could potentially draft the best QB in the next class.
This doesn’t guarantee we’d get the next Stroud/Love/Mahomes, but it would give us 2-3 high-potential QB prospects to find the best one to build around.
What’s the alternative? If we keep Dak, we likely don’t draft a Bo Nix and we likely don’t give Trey Lance a shot to prove himself. If Dak fails again, we won’t have a good pick. We wouldn’t find any cheap vets better than Dak (best we could get is a Carson Wentz).
