but what kind of jeans and tshirt?

I see you as a True Religion jeans and Ed Hardy Tshirt kind of guy.

and of course, what is your wife worth to you? you always say everything so how then is $100.00 too much for a cardigan for her (ducking as I dart the missive coming in response)
You are going to hate this. I wear Kirkland Jeans most of the time and I don't care the name brand of a t-shirt. I'll wear Wranglers. I'll wear Levis. But Kirklands are inexpensive and fit my butt.

My wife is a very down to earth gal who would skin me alive for spending that kind of money on a sweater. Remember, I live in Arizona. Sweaters are basically useless here. I don't put her worth on what I will buy her. Nor does she expect me to. If she wants something I don't say no, but I can't see her wanting an item of clothing for that price. Just not her thing.

i almost got sucked into the expensive jeans trend while at a Nordstrom's outlet. People were like, "wow, look at these Seven brand jeans, they are half price! Only $100!" So, I think wow, half price... I'll try some on. I went through 3-4 sizes/styles from Seven, and they felt cheap and/or fit poorly. I then tried several other outrageously priced jeans... nothing felt good. Then I went in the Levi's store & grabbed a pair of off the shelf 505 Straight jeans. They fit perfectly, right off the shelf. Looked good, and at $40 each, I got 2 pair. Sold for life (again).

On a related note... Have you noticed that America has both an obesity problem & an affinity for skinny jeans? Bad combination.

Almost the same thing happened to me.

I walked into an Abercrombie and Fitch when we got our first one and immediately felt out of place. I tried on some jeans that were alright. They fit okay, but had a weird texture. Then I noticed they had holes in them.

Then I noticed they were $70.

I hung them back up and never walked into an Abercrombie and Fitch again.

Abercrombie is notoriously small on its' sizes. I am 5'10 180 so usually wear "large" but at Abercrombie I am XXL.

I tried a pair of jeans on at a store called Zara once, they were Euro fit. I usually take a 33 or 34. Tried on the 34 at Zara and they couldn't even be done up.

Banana Republic jeans are better than Gap which are better than Old Navy.

I find Wrangler, Levi's and Lee to be too rough a denim.

I love my Lacoste dress shirt. Yeah I was shocked when I got to the till and found out it was $160 plus tax, but by then no way I was going to say no, I am not buying it.

I used to have less $$ so I bought less expensive things but I have more now so I figure why not.

It's like going to WDW next month, I could stay at All-Star Resort for less but I am getting a Savannah room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge so my kid can see giraffes, zebras and wildebeest in front of his room. Nicer interior and that atmosphere is worth the extra 1500 it will cost.

The holes were deliberate you know, add to the flavour of the jeans.

If you want a cheaper version of Abercrombie, go to Hollister.

that's fair but any dress she buys will be at least $100.

I know they were deliberate. I can't in all good conscience buy jeans with holes already in them, even if they are deliberate. Faded, yes. Holes, no.

My point was that the Abercrombie jeans felt really so so. I don't necessarily want a cheaper version.

To me, you're paying for a status symbol, not quality. And I used to be concerned about that.

I got best dressed four years in a row in high school, so I get where you're coming from. I just don't agree with it anymore.

we cancelled the mgm signature reservation because m-life sent an email offer for the mirage at $39 a night so that was just too good to pass up.

also so far we are planning to go to pole position go karts, cirque du soleil LOVE which is in the mirage so that works out, we get 15% off tickets but maybe we get comped which would be awesome.

we are also planning to see another show but have decided to be flexible about which one we see so we can save a ton of money by using the tix 4 tonight service in vegas. the hope is for blue man group but there are a few others we are interested in.

as for restaurants we are still looking and open for suggestions but we will make it a point to stop by serendipity 3 for some frozen hot chocolate :D

Go to The Sugar Factory (restaurant) at least once and have the Steak and Eggs. You will thank me.

Don't buy candy there it is a rip off. I never had steak and eggs before in my life but it was worth the money and delicious. It is in front of the Paris casino.

You can go to Red Rock Casino via bus that comes to the fashion mall (outside of Forever 21, and only a couple of blocks from the Mirage). Bowling Alley, Movies, Food Court in the Casino, beautiful place, the mountains on the horizon are awesome.

I go to Vegas at least once a year. Hit me up with pretty much anything.

Side note: Unless you are buying something from the pawn shop it isn't worth going. It is not near the strip and just a bigger cleaner version of any other pawn shop that is anywhere in the states.

Freemont street is cheaper and good fun at night.
The Harley Davidson restaurant (on the main strip, not Freemont) is cheap and really good.

If you take a cab don't go down the strip. Ask them to take the back route.

Nice..the Mirage may be my favorite, Ceasars Palace right up there as well, mainly because of the waitresses Cleopatra outfits, ha. Mirage has an awesome breakfast buffet too.

There are plenty of very nice restaurants in Vegas. Pick a nice one with the kind of food you like and do that one night.

A couple of decent places off the beaten path are the Breakfast Buffet at the Orleans on West Tropincana. It's priced decently and the food is pretty good.

The Black Bear, also on Tropicana is a good place to get a good Breakfast as well.

Ellis Island is a good inexpensive place to eat as well. Nice little steak cooked well. There is a Micro Brewery there so if you want a beer, you can get that too. Also, there is a little BBQ place right there in the same location that I like. Decent BBQ and Chicken all fairly inexpensive. It's on Koval there in Eastside.

The Sandwich Earl there on South Vegas Blvd is good. It's a sandwich place but it's pretty good.

People will say Heart Attack Grill but if you want a good burger, the Burger Bar is close and it's a good burger. It's in the Madalay Bay.

If you like Seafood or Asian, Sushi, that kind of thing then Roy's is a good place. It's a romantic type setting if that's the kind of food you like. Roy's is on East Flamingo.

Vic and Anthoney's is good, I've eaten there many times. It's expesnive, it's Steak, Seafood, upscale. It would be a very nice place for a special occasion. It's on Fremont St.

If you like Greek Food, there is a place called the Fat Greek. It's pretty good if you like Greek Food. It's not over priced and I've always gotten really good service there, which is a big thing in Vegas. It's on Decatur.

If you like Italina Food, Casa De Amore is a good place. It's off the beaten path as well. You can eat in the formal dinning room or you can order at the Bar which is also not bad and listen to live music. It's kind of cool to do that. My Wife likes that. It's not real, real expensive and the food, I think, is really good. It's on East Tropicana.

There is also a place called Off The Strip. It's also Italian and it's pretty good too. We don't go there as much because my Wife likes the Music at De Amore but a lot of locals go there. It's more of a neighborhood place. People don't dress up and it's not formal. It's just a good place to eat and not very expensive. It's out on South Highland Parkway.

If you like French, which I am just so-so on, I am told that Le Crique is the place. I can not say as I have never eaten here but I have several good friends and family that have said it is very good. Also very expensive. It's a special occasion kind of thing, very Romantic I'm told. It's in the Bellagio.

If you want to shop, you can go out towards the AP and there is an outlet mall that you can go to which will be priced much better then on the strip or what have you. If you want to make a day of it, you can plan a drive out to Stateline for the outlet mall there. It is bigger with more shops and priced better because it is further out. In these places, you can find just about anything you would want.

I hope this is helpful.
